Night Animals

The book was much larger than the version we had at the library (a small hardcover). I LOVE this book. The story is HILARIOUS and the animals are so cute. I love the illustration so much. My kids just love it! I was so impressed that the author wrote AND illustrated the book! I got several of her other books and they are all so so so good and funny/cute!! I’m on the waitlist for her next Night Animals Book! Can’t wait!

This is one of my son's favorite books! He's 11 months now, but we started reading it to him at 7 months. Honestly, I love it too! And I can tell he'll love it for years. Such fun "Night Animal" characters. We love it so much we bought the second book, "Night Animals Need Sleep Too".

This book is my 16 month old daughter's favorite. Every time she sees it she asks to sit on my lap and when we're done she says "more!" She loves the vivid illustrations and speech bubbles. She imitates the possum saying "shhh!" and the wolf's howl. Nothing makes her laugh harder than hearing her dad do the big bear voice or the squeaky bat voice. Because this book is so short, it's easy for a young toddler to follow along and enjoy. It's also great because the limited language doesn't burn you out on re-reading it (over and over). A great choice for kids of all ages, and a definite keeper for our book shelf.

This book is adorable. I bought it for my 6 year old, who just started 1st grade, and it is "beginner enough" for him to read. The pictures are really fun! There is not a lot of heavy reading and most pages only have about a sentence or so worth of words. Basically all of the animals that are are scared of night animals coming out, not realizing that they are night animals. It's a cute and simple story. Love this book and had my son take it to school today for his silent reading time.

I bought this book for my three year old class for our nocturnal theme. This book was cute and it helped teach the kids about what animals are nocturnal

My grandson loved it. The first time we read it together, we ended up reading it five times! I could feel him working out what was happening. It was funny, intriguing, and a big relief when we finished reading it the first time. The art is a smash--I mean great! I enjoyed the different printing styles on the pages. The inside covers were fun too. I love the twist of the story.

It reads more like a comic book which means you have to do fun voices to differentiate the characters, and that is perhaps why it is the book that my girls demand my husband read every morning before they go to Nana's house.
