Great handle and quality…dogs is comfortable in it

My dog isn't the strongest swimmer, but always wants to join us on the river or lake. He definitely appreciates swimming with the lifejacket. He's more relaxed and doesn't swim around in panic mode anymore.

I bought this for my puppy when he was 4 months old, and he is 6.5 months old now. I am pretty sure he is going to be able to wear it for a while longer, we may eventually have to get a larger size once he is full grown. We have used it at the lake and the pool. He has no issues with me putting it on him, he seems comfortable, and it definitely helps keep him buoyant. He will swim with or without it, but you can definitely tell he is much more confident in deeper water when he is wearing it. Thanks to this jacket, he has gotten to experience the fun of tubing behind the boat! He loves it and I don't have to worry about him falling off because if he does, he will stay afloat.I was hesitant to order this one based on some of the reviews saying it tipped their dog over, but I think they either did not have a properly fitting jacket (just speculation), or their dog was just too small for the jacket to really be able to do it's job (I think a very light/small dog might not be enough to weight the jacket down into the water enough to keep it from tipping if that makes sense... like there is more jacket than there is dog). When it is time to order another one, I will be ordering another one of these! The quality is great, the price is great, and it does exactly what I need it to do!

Have a toy chihuahua about 5lbs. Fits great.

I use this for my teacup chihuahua regularly while paddle boarding. Recently he walked right off the paddle board while we were in the middle of the river. I’m pretty confident this vest saved his life. It definitely made rescue much easier too. It kept his head above water and kept him afloat despite the waves. The handle made scooping him out of the water easy and kept me from having to get in the water to retrieve him. 1000% worth the $! I’d buy this life vest over again in a second. I recommend the red color for visibility.

My GSD can swim non stop for hours, the problem is that he gets exhausted but wants to keep swimming and playing. I picked this up to put on him when he shows signs of "slowing down" I put this on him so he can keep playing in the water. The vest has stretch fabric on the underside that makes fitting quick and easy. When he has the vest on he will swim out and just doggie paddle (yup, pun intended) around and he seems more relaxed. At times he just sits and floats and watches his surroundings.He can run around on land with the vest on but is a bit harder for him stay in the "sit" position.All the fabric and construction of this life vest is solid. Have used several times since purchase and still looks brand new.

I looked at lots of life jackets and have experience with dogs on our personal boats. I wanted a jacket that could enable us to pick up an overboard pup with a boathook. On the water sometimes it's hard to lean down and grab your pet from a larger boat. You need a jacket that has enough support across the tummy and straps to reinforce and distribute the dog's body weight so that you don't injure it during a rescue. This jacket has nice, wide velcroed wetsuit material tummy panels and the pick up handle stands up on it's own, a must for trying to hook a waterlogged dog. It also has a little float collar to assist keeping the dog's head above water. I'd be hesitant to try and retrieve a really large dog this way but our 10 pounder would be easy to rescue wearing this vest. I give it a solid 5 stars.

I ordered a few before finding this one. My Chihuahua is about 5 pounds and slim so XS was often too big.For the price range, its perfect! It’s not bulky, he is able to move around freely.
