POWERTEC1 x 30 Inch Sanding Belts, 60 Grit Aluminum Oxide Belt Sander Sanding Belt for WEN 6515T/ Bucktool Belt and Disc Sander, Woodworking, Metal Polishing, Knife Sharpening, 10PK (111280)

The usefulness of 1" belt sanders is wide and constant. I use a lot of these replacement belts. More lately. I use them now in the same ways I've used them for decades, but the newer versions suffer from their taped-together ends separating much more easily than belts I've purchased before. Invariably now I break them well before they suffer significant wear. Yeah, I'm tough on them; but that hasn't changed over the years.

If I could give them no stars I would. First belt separated at the seam in about 30 seconds. OK, I think maybe just a bad belt. Second one did the same thing again about 30 seconds. It is not worth my time to send them back. On a good note though, I did try to glue them with loctite super glue. I have nothing to lose! It worked great. Put glue on the connecting piece of tape and put it back where it was. Put a clamp on it for about 5 minutes and it now works great.

I bought these as replacements for the belts I had purchased from Harbor Freight. My belt sander from Harbor Freight always seemed a little weak, but what I found was the Harbor Freight belts were to short. I always had a hard time getting them on and off. The last few would break after just a few minuets use. When I installed these belts it really woke up. They are correctly sized for my sander and are easy to install. It seems the Harbor freight belts were adding extra friction causing the sander to work harder just to move the belt.

I like these because they are cheap if they did a pack of like 50 or 100 for even less id be all over it. I use these for knife handles since they are cheap I can clog them up with epoxy and other resins and toss it. I dont use them for steel removal tho they do work I use ceramic belts for that bora 7 or norton blaze are monsters compared to this and build up less heat but you only get one or 2 belts for 10 bucks and I cant clog those up costing that much so that's where these come it. Check out super grit and tru grit for high end belts butv your average Joe probably will love these. O yeah horbor frieght sandpaper all completely sucks dont buy it!

They have held up for me for woodworking. I have not had any separate yet as others have and I would imagine with cheaper belts that quality control may vary a bit so i can see for the price that is possible. Then again I am using them on wood and I am not super hard on them.I like that I can afford to toss em when they get gummed up and not have to try and clean them like on my more expensive 6" table belt sander.Over all..they do for me what I expect from a cheap belt...they sand..they hold up to normal use from me...and they do not make me cringe when I toss one....:-)

Each seam would break. I tried all ten from my order. Not one held for more then 3 minutes of just running with no sanding being done. The return window was expired do to me first using up my old belts bought locally. Sanding belts are surly not new technology, obviously profit over quality was taken to the limit by this manufacturer. Recently, my new locally bought belts are working fine, which verifies my belt tension is fine.

So, I ordered these belts in both 40 and 60 grit. Of the 20 belts, only 12 of them were the proper fit to actually work on a 30 inch sander. The ones that were too long were more than an inch long and could not be used. There was no way to tighten enough to make them usable.The belts that did fit did decent for wood though metal wore them down quicker than my usual belts. I would say I got about half as much usage as I would expect from an aluminum oxide belt. The price is on par with better belts so I can't say there is that much value here. They are still slightly better than some belts I have used from other generic companies.If you expect to get 10 usable belts, I would order something a little better. If you just want belts for cheap, you can get a few out of these that will likely work for you.

Okay. Needs some quality control!!! First belt i pulled out of the package was about 1/2 inch to damn long, no way to pick the extra slack up so its usless on my grinder! 2nd one was ok, i hope the rest are usable.Its supposed to be a 1x30 belt, not 1x30.5(+)
