Schylling Summer Bugs Tin Tea Set

I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. It came today and her eyes were so big when she saw it. She had several tea parties with her animals, Mama and Meemo and had the table set for Papa when he came home from work. This is a lovely set with bright colors. We especially like that it is not too girly as she is not drawn to pink and white. We are teaching her that she is to clean and dry her tea set when she uses it and store it away in her "kitchen" so she can bring it out for special occasions. (Her kitties have birthdays every other day so there will be lots of "special" occasions. This is just the right size for her. From her earliest days we have taught her, and soon her baby sister as well, to take care of her toys and belongings. With care, this set should last a long time. Well made and fun to use.

I got this for my 21 month old and it is her favorite thing right now. You can not pass her room without being dragged in for a tea party. I looked at several sets before deciding on this one and it was honestly the tin and cuteness that made me go for this set. The tin is very durable, there isn't anything that looks like it would ever go jagged or anything. The set is really cute too, the little bug faces are all smiling and adorable.When I pulled the set out of the box I thought it was a bit small at first. The plates are about 3 1/2 inches in diameter and the saucers about 2", the bottom of the tea pot is the same size as one of the plates and about 3" high. But it actually is the perfect size for a little girl. My daughter is only 21 months, but she is a big 21 months and it really is the right size for her hands and the cups even fit into a couple of her dolls hands so they can hold a cup of tea too!

This tea set is great for a 2 year old. The teapot and cups are definitely on the smaller side and an older child might want something bigger, but they are the perfect size for my 2 year old daughter's hands.The pattern is bright, cheerful and cute without being cloying and the durability seems adequate.All in all, if you are looking for a reasonably priced, sturdy, non-talking/battery operated tea set for a toddler, this is an excellent choice.

This is such an adorable and sweet tea set. I bought it as a gift for my nieces who are 2 and 4 and they love to use it for their tea parties. I wanted something that wouldn't break but I also did not want to buy a plastic set. This set is perfect because it is made out of tin, so it is lightweight, not breakable, but not at all cheap looking. It has a classic look that will last for many years. It has gotten quite a bit of use from my nieces but still looks brand new.It is just slightly smaller than I hoped for- if your kid likes to use actual liquid for tea parties, the cups do not really hold much but this does not seem to really affect the kid's enjoyment of it, so I still recommend this product!

My daughter received this toy for her third birthday 10 months ago. There has not been a day that goes by that she hasn't played with it in some way or another. Almost every morning she brings me a cup and tells me its milk, ice cream and yes even coffee for me (she knows me well). They have held up pretty well considering the abuse they have to withstand, falls, being stepped on, thrown etc. I will say that they need to be given to a child that is past the mouthing stage. If you kid is still teething and chewing on toys, then NO this is not the toy for you, at least not yet. My 1 yr old got a hold of one of the plate and scrapped a little of the paint off with his front teeth. I don't blame the company for that, they specifically made this for kids 3 and up. I cannot attest to their ability to hold water, as I don't let my daughter fill the cups up. They are tin, they will rust. I would suggest getting a plastic or wooden set if you really feel the need to put water in your child's tea set or wish to use it for bath play or water play outside. With or without water, my daughter still loves this set. As for the size of the cups, yes they are small but compared to the porcelain set that my daughter was given (and is still up in the attic, because really porcelain isn't really a child friendly medium for toys) in which the cups are sized for barbies, I thought the tin cups were a perfect size. Remember it is a child set, you aren't going to be having your morning cup of coffee out of them.I have given this as a gift several time over now and it always is a big hit. I am not lying when I say it is the most used toy in my home. 5 stars!

The Summer Bug Tea Set is perfect for my two and a half yesr old granddaughter.It is a sturdy and attractive set much better choice than a plastic set.wheather alone or with a friend. I got the book Miss Spiders Tea Party to go withthe tea set. Sometimes I give her snacks to eat from her tea set and that is really a big deal for her as she either has a friend or her dolls to share with making the pretend now real life. Every little girl needs a tea set and I hope feel she will continue to play with it forseversl years to come.

This tea set was a perfect gift for my 2 year old granddaughter. It is much more sturdy than plastic or ceramic tea sets, yet lightweight for little hands. I like it's happy, colorful design. Price was reasonable as well.

This adorable little set is perfect for my three year old. It's sturdy enough for her to play with and has held up to being trampled and tossed around in-between. She loves it and is happy, so am I.

It is a charming little set. I wanted something unbreakable for my grandson who is 3 and this is perfect. He was playing ( carefully and with supervision) with a teensy china tea set from my daughter's childhood, so I knew he would enjoy one easier to manipulate that would be safer. He parks whatever car or train he has been playing with to switch to a tea party. He loves it.

Super cute. Flimsy but it’s the tin material you can’t expect it to be strong. If stepped on the plate can dent easily. Teapot is adorable but the lid is super tiny so I had to set it aside (no big deal to me) tea cups are perfect for toddlers. Tray is a favourite!!
