VIAVITO Travel Yoga Mat

This mat has been ideal to take away and use for yoga and stretching.It has fitted perfectly in my cabin :)

I’ve given this mat a fair trial. I bought it to take on a holiday where the airline only allowed one cabin bag. I have a daily yoga practice and needed to find a mat that was portable enough but didn’t cost a small fortune. It isn’t the lightest and it’s not the sturdiest construction but let’s face it- at this price you need to be realistic. It did exactly what I needed- provides enough grip for every asana and enough padding for knees. It won’t stand up to every day usage for more than a couple of months but I only need it for the occasional trip and am really happy that it cost a fifth of what the fancy yoga brands charge. If money is no issue, spend a lot more and get a lighter, sturdier and grippier mat. But this genuinely does the trick and I don’t mind having to replace it annually if needed.

As many other reviewers have noted, this mat is not durable and quickly starts to wear, especially at the end where the feet hit it the most (during chatturanga, warrior 2 etc).It's a shame as the design is excellent, it folds well, is easy to transport and the grip is actually very good, before it starts to wear, which is almost immediately.I bought this mat to use during a Yoga Teacher Training in Bali. In the end I used a school mat, and have started to use this mat since I finished my course and am travelling again. Good job I didn't need it for the course because no way would it have lasted 3 weeks of Yoga Teacher Training. I've used it maybe 5 times and it is well worn where my feet land the most.Perhaps we shouldn't expect much for the price but I would be happy to pay more for extra durability in this specific mat, because everything else about the design is good, but the lack of durability means this won't be used for long before ending up in landfill.Overall, if you're trying to live sustainably/consciously, do not buy this mat - pay more for something that will last.

Good that these fold in squares but I dropped a star as they aren't as light as I thought. It is just as simple to fold a roll up yoga mat and put it flat in a suitcase. Not sure I would buy again because of that
