YONICO Router Bits Slotting Cutter 1/16-Inch 1/2-Inch Shank 12101

I needed to make a slot to hold a sheet of metal in a wood top and this made the perfect thin 1/16th slot I needed. Good cut quality.

While making basket bases, this was supposed to cut the groove for the reeds. I got the first one done. Looked good. Small 6 inch oval base. Second one was about 12 inches long. Finished it. Small defect that I didn't notice at first glance. Third base. Cutter head bent. Ruined the base. One base done with no issues. 2 bases ruined because of this bit. So now I not only have to find a new but that's not trash, but also make 2 new bases that were ruined by it

I got this bit to router out the grooves needed for T-moulding on an arcade I am building. Not much to this as it worked perfectly and the size was as advertised.

In my opinion, Yonico makes quality router bits. This one is tricky because 1/16" is such a narrow cut. It's really just a horizontal saw blade. I bought this to install vinyl T-moulding edging in a custom melamine sewing table top. First thing to know is you don't need to make the full depth cut in one pass. Three passes or more works best in my experience. Doing it in one pass builds up WAY too much heat and you'll ruin the bit in no time. The cutting teeth are so narrow at 1/16" that the metal disk is almost as thick. I actually wire-brushed the pretty yellow paint off to reduce friction-produced heat. This seems to help, but multiple passes still recommended for a full depth cut. [Edit] In the process of learning the above, I pretty much had ready heat-damaged the bit, making the carrier disk brittle (photo). Working on my second project, one of the teeth snapped off. Can't blame that on mfr. as I clearly mistreated the bit. I've ordered another and will be more careful this time.

Made a little stand for my van center console/ arcade, used this to cut the channel for the t moulding. It worked. Seemed like it held up just fine

Routing a spline into Baltic birch plywood for plastic edging. Right after making the initial plunge cut smoke was everywhere, the paint coating had come off and was burning inside the plywood. Fixed the problem, inspected the cutter and felt OK to continue. Started cutting again and got about one foot and noticed severe vibration coming from my router. The cuter had warped and was cutting a way bigger kerf. Don't buy this product or anything from this company they make junk!

I love this bit, simple tool for a simple use. I use it when making my Trout Fishing Nets, I make the stick groove on the outer side of the net which allows me to embed the stiching. the only problem is that I need a larger bearing, one that only allows for a 1/16" depth of cut. Have been unsuccessful finding one, so I may have to have a special outer race bushing made to suffice.

I bought this bit to route a channel for t-moulding in plywood. It'll make said channel but does so by burning through the wood. It heats up so much you have to take very frequent breaks and it will warp. I barely did 10 linear feet before I gave up and bought a Whiteside bit. What a world of difference. The Whiteside bit actually cuts and makes a channel quickly. Do yourself a favor and buy a better bit in the first place.

Cheap garbage. Made it about 20 seconds before the teeth ripped free. Looks more like they melted off. Don't cheap out. Buy a name brand like Bosch.
