Spectra Classic Fuel Tank Sending Unit FG91A
I used this on my Classic Restored 1970 Monte Carlo a few weeks ago before I sold the car after owning it for 46 years. The original Sending unit decided to finally go bad after so many years. This Spectra Replacement Fuel Tank Sending unit worked perfectly in my car. The hardest part was taking the Fuel Tank Down. Luckily I have a lift in my Barn so with 2 people it wasn't so bad taking the tank down that only had about 5 gallons of fuel left inside it. I would of not wanted to do the job with a full tank of gas that is for sure. Best bet would be to try to use up as much gas as you can out of it unless you can syphon it out and put it in gas containers until you are done somehow.

It works just fine on a non Chevy
Note: I've been an Auto Tech for over 10 years so I understand that new parts dont always fit properly especially on older cars. I looked at this and other senders a long time before buying it.I bought this to fit a 1970 Cutlass even though the title says its for a Chevy. I suspect it will fit many of the GM A bodies (RWD of course) from 1968-1972 since they basically use the same tanks. I compared everything to the old sender and it's almost identical as far as measurements. The exception is the inlet which is perhaps 1/4 inch higher than the factory. This is ok since even though it may not pick up the fuel at the very bottom of the tank, it also will be less likely to pick up the trash such as rust and dirt thats on the bottom as well. The filter and float look different but function the same. I checked its accuracy before installing by sweeping the measuring arm and comparing it to the gauge reading itself. It was accurate. After all thats whats really important. This one has just one line out for those cars thats do NOT have a return line from the fuel pump. It came with a new rubber seal that fits between the tank and sender. Also came with an inlet filter and of course the float. If you have a chevy, this is your fuel sending unit. If you have another GM A body from same era, this will likely be just fine too. Just compare the picture with your old sender to get an idea.I would buy again.

Sending unit for fuel gauge
Good sending unit for fuel gauge. I bought this for my 1970 Chevelle, installed it yesterday and it seems to be quite accurate. The sending unit I had in it before was an aftermarket unit that was not very good, and always left you wondering how much gas you actually had in the tank. I would definitely recommend this one to others.

Looks like the real deal!
Got this for the restoration of a '68 El Camino SS. The quality looks good and it fit perfectly. Tested it with a meter and the resistance checked out. Haven't put gas in the tank and checked out the fuel gauge on the dash, but I expect that it will work just fine.

No complaints here
This is your typical fuel sending unit for older Chevys. I replaced the original (non-working) unit from my 68 Chevelle and did notice the floats were different. My original unit had a rubber float and his unit uses a plastic float. Not something that matters much unless you are worried about the Concours judges dropping the tank to inspect for accuracy. I'm just happy my fuel gauge works now!
