Corelle1092887 Simple Lines Square 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4, Black/White

Have been using these for a few months now. I like everything about the pieces. The design looks just as good in real life as it did in the pictures.

I bought this to replace a set of Corelle dinnerware we've had over 15 years. The old set start getting gray and streaky as if the years of utensils against the surface in daily use finally took a toll. When I decided to replace that set, I had no doubt that it would be with another set of Corelle. It is lightweight, dishwasher and microwave safe, is thin enough to not stack too high in the cabinet, and it stays nice looking even with heavy use.This set arrived well packed, the Corelle box and bubble packing inside another box, and everything was intact. The plates are really big! We will probably end up using the lunch plates as dinner plates sometimes. The bowls also have a very large capacity, easily two cups.One main difference between this set and my old one is the coffee cups are not the same material as the dishes... they used to be made of the same 'vitrelle' and now are porcelain. I like the new ones better; they have a little more heft and keep my coffee warmer longer, and they are more elegant than our regular old unmatched mugs.I love the squared shape of all the pieces, even the cups are a bit square. Perhaps it is because of the shape that the pieces all seem to have so much capacity. I like this pattern, Simple Lines, because it is a simple contemporary desigh. If I have one complaint it would be that the lines don't look solid and dark on the plates; in places the lines look like chalk stripes.

I purchased the Corelle 4 Dots pattern less than 2 years ago, but had only got a single order for a place setting for four. Of course, now that I wanted to get more, I found it was discontinued, and I could not find anything, anywhere on the internet, for sale anymore other than some cups. So I looked at what's out there, picked these, and will give away my other set.These are pretty much exactly what I had prior, just the different pattern. But this is my third set of Corelle now, and I've had nothing ever chip or break on me in my house, even with a 6 year old being rough putting them in my granite sink...I did have one bowl broken in transport, but that's due to a lack of packing protection on the small bowls. Both sets of plates were protected.There's a nice, solid feel to these, no hesitancy in stacking them or pulling something out from the middle of a stack.As with any Corelle pattern, the colors have a slightly faded look, I assume it's part of the process that helps protect them during normal use. Since I've not had anything fade on any of the plates I had previously, it apparently works.Solid, attractive, generously sized, and almost 50% off the normal price when I ordered them, can't go wrong with that combination.

Well writing a review for corelle is like telling you guys that chocolate is sweet. Corelle was, is and hopefully will be the best lightweight, durable and stylish glassware set that exists. I got my set intact, tightly packed. The packing is good enough, unless the package was brutally handled by the postal guys, it should come in good one piece.The square set is really good, plates and bowls are big, really big. If you don,t have a big enough microwave the big plates won't even fit.The design is simple as per description and is good for daily use. I have another backup set of another design for guests. I have been using it since the past one year, and think these will remain for years to come.Its perfect 16 piece set. All microwaveable and dishwasher safe. Awesome!!UPDATE:The mugs have stained a little because of the coffee. But the plates and bowls are still good. So its three years we have been using them everyday.

Most plates and bowls we've owned tend to chip and crack easily over time.Corelle does not. The bowls and plates (not the mugs) are made from a thin three-layered tempered glass called Vitrelle, which seems nearly indestructible. I have never lost a plate or bowl despite numerous drops onto wood laminate flooring that would absolutely have shattered any standard stoneware or "china" plate.The decorative black lines are also nearly indestructible. We have scraped them with metal utensils hundreds of times, scrubbed them, run them through the dishwasher, left food to dry for days, etc. and the lines have never faded, delaminated, or changed in any way.Over the last 5 years, we have ordered two additional sets, all of which look identical to the first purchase.Note that the coffee cups are made from traditional stoneware, not Vitrelle, so they are thicker and less durable. We never use the coffee cups, so it is useless for me to mention that none of them have broken either. We find that they are too small, so bring them out only when guests want coffee with a meal.

Corelle is purchased for a specific reason - it's not breakable, it's dishwasher safe, and, in this case, I like the style, ie, square plates. I'd give 5 stars except it is surprisingly heavy and stacking in the cabinet means picking it up, placing the cleaned piece and putting the others on top, ie, large plate on the bottom, then small plates and then bowls. I stack this way due to space issues. Because of rheumatoid arthritis, this makes it difficult for me. However, the plates do serve my purpose. They are clean looking and I find I love square plates better than round ones - more space on the plate with less risk of food spilling off (we eat in the living room and have grandkids). :)

Great for caravan or camping so much nicer than melamine if you can afford it, real crockery lightweight

These dishes are beautiful. Incredibly light weight compared to my old stoneware. They take up a lot less cupboard space I ordered two sets and they easily fit bowls and all in the space where only my dinner plates fit before.

Corelle Geschirr bekommt von mir 5 Sterne. Super Produkt aus den USA wie ich das auch im Internet recherchiert habe. Aber: Die Tassen sind aus normalem Porzelan Made in China. Das war aus der Beschreibung nicht ersichtlich.
