Practice practice practice
As a hobby technician and a long time amateur radio operator I've rigged up several detectors that are of much better use to me as a tech than the CC308, but none of my home built devices are as small or as streamlined as this device. You can carry this detector pretty much anywhere you would be able to carry a cell phone, with little notice or interest being taken in the detector. The CC308 was well worth the sub 15 dollar price I paid and I will often pocket it just to have it with me in case something makes me curious about the local radio signals around me.Just don't expect to immediately be able to get good results using it, at least not until you have had a significant amount of practice playing/testing how it reacts to common electrical and electronic devices.Even if your not a tech and just want to have a bit of assurance that their isn't a hidden microphone or camera in your hotel or bath room your going to need to practice quite a bit with this detector to recognize the signals generated by common electrical devices.I'd recommend testing/playing with it around as many radio transmitters as you can lay your hands on, start with the transmitters you own such as that cell phone that will have you spinning in circles if you don't turn it off or at minimum at least put in airplane mode.Same goes for the bright red flashing LEDs and the red coloured search screen, you need to see how the optics of real known cameras appear as opposed to say spots of silver glitter from that big anniversary party a while back. The sound and 4 LEDs don't provide much feed back, but for a pocket device in this low a price range it's about as good as you can get and with practice the telescoping antenna, sound and LEDs along with the sensitivity setting on the side will provide a significant help in finding and making a guess at the kind of signal is being picked up.I didn't mention the vibrate mode because I've never managed to make the CC308 work in the vibrate mode. In every situation I've attempted to use the vibrate mode the detector self jams the moment any sort of signal is detected, with the device being driven to full scale and being held there by the motor used to generate the vibration.I can't emphasis enough the need to practice with as many electrical devices and radio transmitters as you can find. You need to see how the CC308 reacts to common and not so common electrical devices. At minimum In addition to testing this with wireless cameras and microphones I'd recommend testing this with, cordless Baby monitors, WIFI, Bluetooth, CB, Ham, FRS, MURS, Cordless house phones the very old(46-49 Mhz and new(Ghz),Remote controls both for toys and stereo equipment. As you practice with these obvious radio transmitters your going to start seeing how the CC308 reacts to less obvious electronics that also transmit.I've found that many computers, computer screens, especially cheap Laptops even with No WIFI or Bluetooth, Cable modems, Satellite modems, FM/AM radios, certain types of florescent lights being switched on or off(Is there a sign with flashing or intermittent florescent lights on the far side of that wall?) Is there a old style VCR or a analog to digital converter box transmitting a analog signal on TV channel 3 or 4?This detector is priced in the range of a toy, but with a little practice it can be a useful initial use tool.

Still haven't proven it's worth soooo
Uhh hard to give pro and cons..it feels more like a carnival toy..but was 10 bucks sooo eh.It works kind of sort of. I would say 50 prrcent and keen focus. You might find a hidden cam

Lame.
Detects wireless signal basically from any router, which means it goes off constantly even on low sensitivity. The "camera" detection consists of flashing a light and expecting you to look through the little red lens for a reflection off of a camera lens.

Works but detects metal too
It works but you have to know what you’re doing with it and how to use it properly because it’s a metal detector too and not just frequency detection. I bought this because I thought my neighbor was spying on me.

More tests
I have to run more tests so far I don’t found any camera and I don’t know if it works.

It does what it says. If you do decide ...
It does what it says . If you do decide to use cut the main power to the house. All cell phone devices shut off as well. Then you will be able to let the device work. Still using mine.
