Bachmann Trains Thomas with Annie and Clarabel RTR Electric Train HO Scale

My 11-year-old son recently got into model trains. That's all he asked for this year for Christmas. I got this set as a base and we added tracks and other Bachmann cars.First off, this set is quick. I expected it to be a little slower because it's made for kids, but I don't think it is.Second, it's still new but the cars glide over the track (both included and purchased separately) smoothly. Every once in awhile, you might need to readjust the car back on the track.Third, it's just plain fun. But you definitely want to consider adding a couple of track pieces. Right out of the box, it only goes in a small circle. We added a couple of straight pieces and some curves when we moved it down to the basement and it's a much bigger track. We've had so much fun with this model train set. This is a great starter set for a younger child looking to get into model railroading. It's more affordable than purchasing tracks, controller, and cars individually, it's easy to use, and it's Thomas. Who doesn't love Thomas?

My title for this review just about says everything I can say. The price is great on the Bachmann Trains Thomas with Annie and Clarabel ready to run train set because I could not have purchased it as a gift for my grandson anywhere else for less. The delivery was on time as promised. I have been in model railroading for over 50 years, and when Bachmann first came out with model trains the quality was poor. I started with Lionel O27, then switched to HO, and I now model in N scale. I have some older Bachmann N scale models and my son has some that are newer. They have come a long way in improving their quality since when I purchased some of their N scale products. I think this would be a good starter set for most any youngster 5 years and up. I highly recommend this item, especially if your child is crazy over Thomas. The set is small, only a 36 inch circle of track, but can easily be expanded by purchasing additional track and accessories either through Amazon or your local hobby shop.

I usually write reviews 3-6 months after purchase to ensure they operate as they should. Unfortunately, Thomas train motor burnt out within 2 months of purchase. This is with infrequent use with less than 3 hours of use. I have reached out to Bachmann and will wait for their response and update the review. When the product was working - I would have given it 5 stars.Update: after back and forth - Bachmann US sent me a new replacement. I appreciate their warranty support.

If your child loves Thomas & his friends as my grandson does, this is a magical gift to give! From the familiar cheerful faces of Thomas, Annie & Clarabell to the fun of recreating adventures as they chuff backwards & forwards, this was pure joy. Easy setup, easy for an 8-yr old to use. As other reviewers have noted, it's best not to be taking the tracks apart too often: the bits of metal on track ends aren't meant for constant handling. But it's a lovely gift that should last a good long time & bring much enjoyment! (Be prepared for requests for the other engines also, to add to the fun!)

Funciona de maravilla las vias son de calidad solo que una tiene dos conectadores de vias mientras que solo tiene que ser uno lo ojos de thomas se mueven gran detalle pero solo se mueven ala derecha y no ala isqierde pero say felis

Oddly came in a box labeled N Scale, which I was considering returning before opening it. There is a very, very small black speck near his right eye that I could not get rid of and the whistles were installed a little wonky. Small hiccups at worst but was a reminder that the quality for this product may vary by a small degree. Good overall - it's a children's toy anyway.

My grandson loved playing with it but he doesn’t like that. It just goes around in a circle. Not sure if I’m gonna return it or not but so far so good

My son wanted this set for Christmas and it ran super good would highly recommend
