Half-Blood Academy 4: Magic Unchained: an academy reverse harem paranormal romance Kindle Edition

This is the 4th installment in the Half-blood academy, reverse harem, series. I really do like the storyline of this series. The sex scenes are steamy, and the action throughout the book is great! I’ve enjoyed watching Marigold come into her powers throughout the series but I do feel like the story is starting to be dragged out quite a bit. In this book, we see marigold begin to embrace her demon side, while still needing to complete the mating bond with Paxton, apparently that poor guys never gonna get to “finish.” Also, fair warning, there is some “corniness” throughout the series. The pet names the demigods use for our FMC, ugh I cringe every time they use them. Also, the way they actually refer to them as “alphas.” We get it, they’re alphas, we don’t need it shoved down our throats to convince us. And then, sometimes the way the demigods talk to/about our FMC, I don’t know how to explain it other than being corny. I didn’t notice any major grammatical errors, but there was one detail that didn’t fit. When our FMC drank blood from Loki, the half-human/half-demon prince, she said his blood was black, but a little later in the book she stated that half-bloods had red blood because of their human side, only pureblood demons have black blood. So, how could Loki’s blood be black if he’s the half blood prince? Idk if this was just an error she missed, or if something will come from this in the next book and he won’t really be part human, we shall see. Last thing, sex, sex, and more sex. I’m all about books with good shes scenes, but I swear it seems that all they think about is sex. I know they get caught up in a “mating frenzy”, but hell, even Lucifer could only think about sex with Lilith in his one POV chapter. I just feel like everything revolves around getting to each other so they can have sex. The demigods don’t even make it seem like they want to get to her to make sure she’s okay, it’s just about getting to her so they can slide on in, basically. It’s still a good series and I do plan to finish it out. It’s not an all-consuming, tilt my world off its axis kind of series, but it’s definitely still a good read!

Oh my gosh! I am with out words. This book was everything I hoped for and more. A perfect continuation to the perfect story. I stayed up all night to read this, I wouldn’t have put it down for anything! I still can’t believe that Meg once again has left me ruined for all other books, desperately needing the final book! If you like this series at all you need this book!Thank you Meg for letting me into your world, the Half Blood Academy books are the best, most engaging, and my all time favorite books! 💜

It’s hard to rate because I liked and disliked this book. The ending was really good and of course left you wanting more. But so many times the MC didn’t do something she was suppose to do because she wanted sex to much, like so many things could have been solved. I was getting so frustrated by how dumb the MC is getting.I’m not sure I want to continue on with the series just because the frustration and it’s not in a good way at all.

This is the 4th book in this series, and they must be read in order to understand what's going on. They are all amazing books, and I highly recommend reading everything by this author.I've said it before, and I know I'll say it again, but Meg Xuemei X is one of my favorite authors. She creates complex, interesting characters, writes passionate sexy scenes, and fills her stories with excitement, adventure, and humor. This one starts out a little darker than most, but Meg doesn't dwell in that darkness for long. The story quickly takes a fun turn and introduces some fun new characters that I wouldn't mind revisiting with books of their own (I'm looking at you, Loki, and your yummy Duke friends).Marigold is starting to accept who she is and even though she isn't totally sure what she is capable of, she is embracing it more and more. She is strong, fierce, determined, and dangerous. She is also funny, easily distracted, and makes me laugh. Her insistence about being not being protected and acquiring a bad a** nickname is one of my favorite things, and every time one of her men call her by their personal pet name I giggle. Another thing I love about this one is the slow build-up to the romance. The attractions are instant, and lust is a real thing, but the emotional connections Mari develops with her men is built upon as the story progresses. That makes the relationships believable.Overall, this is an exciting read with amazing characters, an well-developed story line, and had me reading late into the night because I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to see where the adventure goes.

I love this series so much! Those Demigods are like sex on a stick, so good! I love Marigold too. She is such a strong character and has gone through so much. The relationship with her and the guys really turned a corner in this book and I loved seeing their development. I really enjoyed the story, it’s not like any of the other academy books I’ve read. This one keeps me glued to my seat. I cant wait for the last book.

I was really hoping this was the final installment but I could tell by about mid way that it wasn’t. So I definitely enjoyed this fourth installment. From the description I kind of assumed that Marigold was going to have to mate with Loki and his Dukes but sadly no. I mean I appreciate her loyalty but a little dabbling in the dark would have been fun.I am definitely not feeling the fact that Hector lost his power. And now that I think about it I starting feel like maybe Loki set everyone up because now he’s got Hell and Earth all to himself with no resistance so we’ll see in book 5 how all this turns out. And hopefully Marigold and Paxton will finally complete their mating bond. Only took like 5 books but hopefully they finally get to it.

So good! but i thought it was the last one, yet another cliffhanger! Can't wait for book 5. I really enjoyed the slightly darker side of this book and marigold findin her way through hell, definitely worth a read!

Oh God I love this series got five stars excellent would recommend this series can't wait for the next one

Loved it book. Four was so good i liked the steamy scenes and how the each sacrificed them selves for each other loved loki he started off as an enermy then he became an ally super keep it up waiting for book 5

I've been eating this books, finished it last night, but I was upset that I've got to wait for the 5 th instalment until Feb 20

That was awful. I couldn’t even get through it by skipping the cringeworthy parts. Everything is so forced and over the top.
