Will the clip at attaches to the sound hole mar the finish?

Aloha! Thanks for asking. If you have a laminate top ukulele, which is 99% of all ukuleles, it shouldn't mar the finish on your ukulele. We tested it by rubbing the hook pretty hard in the sound hole and it didn't make a single scratch at all. However, if you have a solid top ukulele, it can make a scratch on the sound hole. This is because solid tops are real wood and are prone to more scratches. Wood is softer than laminate. So we would recommend that you don't use this strap for solid top ukuleles, unless you don't care that it gets scratched.If you are wondering if you have a solid top or not, it's probably not a solid top. Is this ukulele strap compatible for all ukulele brands and sizes?

Yes, this ukulele strap is definitely compatible for all ukulele brands and sizes. Since the strap is adjustable to different lengths, all sizes are compatible. And even some oddly shaped ukuleles like pineapple shape and other figures are definitely compatible too. The great thing about this strap also is that you if you have multiple ukuleles, you can switch ukuleles very quickly while still wearing the strap. Unlike a strap with a strap pin which many times is a hassle to get on and off of each ukulele.

Is this strap compatible for kids? If so, what age is it good for?

Aloha, We have found that this strap works best for older kids, say 8 years old and up. With younger kids, it can work but would require a bit more discipline to hold the ukulele steady with your right forearm as they tend to think that you don't need to hold the ukulele at all now that you have a strap. With the hook in the soundhole, if i accidently let go, will the uke flip and fall? What about using it over the shoulder? Is this more stable?

The uke will flip and fall if you do let go of it. I use it mainly to offer some stability while playing. I have not used the over the shoulder method since I frequently need my hands free to help my students with their instruments, I just lay the uke flat on a table.
