Magellan explorist 310 Hunter bundle W/Kirsch Trax Maps

Bought this for a trip in the Tetons. The only thing I could do with it was too put waypoints on where I have been. At least I have a record of where I have been. Would of liked to known where I was going but I couldn't figure out!

I still have to play with it some, still learning all the features. I used it 2 weeks ago in the UP of Michiganand it worked great.

eXporist 310.I really did like the look of this unit and the fit of the unit in my hand. I loved the display and how detailed it could be depending on where you were. It is an extremely accurate unit once it tracks the satellites. I would certainly recommend this product to people who have owned GPS in the past. If you have never used a GPS this unit would be a very difficult unit to start with. Those who are generally adept at using technology may not find this unit that difficult to use but with the lack of directions that come with the unit and the counter-intuitive display and menus I don't think that I could recommend this unit for a first timer. The unit does not come with a lanyard but it does come with all the cables needed to load new maps and it also comes with a year of membership for the website which I have not yet visited. I am looking forward to using it more when my next season starts but due to the lack of time I had this unit before hunting season ended I did not get to put it through all of its paces. I have given this product more stars if it were more user friendly

I bought this item for a present, it was delivered perfectly thanks to Amazon, and the product appears to be a quality product, however I wouldn't know as I am unable to use it. The unit is not preloaded with the Kirsch's Hunting Trax Maps, you must go to the Magellan website and download them. The problem is I have spent several HOURS on the phone with Magellan, dealing with technical issues trying to set up an account, to now dealing with an expired download code. It expired December 21, 2012, several days before I received the unit. The customer service response on December 28, 2012, was "sorry" they could not issue a new code, it has to come from corporate, BUT they are closed until after the holidays... Today is January 3, 2013, I have called customer service again, they say I still need to talk to Corporate. I am still waiting for a call from corporate, for a new non-expired download code to get the maps I paid for.P.S. A thank you to Teresa, Arvin, Vien, Alvin, Jazper and Christian at Magellan, for your help.:) Also, could you have someone from Magellan Corporate PLEASE call me, they have my number...
