Electronic part keeps on ticking. Band dies in about two years.
I used to have the
Timex Women's T5B721 Ironman Triathlon Sleek 50-Lap Watch
I was able to wear it for about three years, until the band separated from the body of the watch. The electronic part of the watch still worked perfectly. So I got this pretty flower watch next. The clear bezel held up well, with only minor scratches. The reason I got it was the LAP TIMER. I can set the lap timer to any interval I choose. It chimes for ten seconds so I can switch exercises or take a break for a predetermined amount of time.I use the THREE alarms often. It is easy to toggle the three alarms on and off, and each one can be independently set to only chime on weekdays, only on weekends, or only on one specific day of the week. The alarm is quiet. It might be too quiet for your taste. If you were out jogging with a lawnmower nearby, the alarm sound might be drowned out by the ambient noise. Sometimes when I'm watching TV bundled up in a blanket, I don't hear the alarm.I take this watch off any time I'm going to shower or be submerged in water. I read other reviews that said this watch is a wimp when it comes to water, but since I don't need to know what time it is when I'm taking a shower or bath, it's no big deal. If you are a serious swimmer, I'd say look elsewhere. The only thing (and this is incredibly minor) is that the "watch keep," the band that holds down the free end of the strap opposite the buckle -- it has a little knob to keep it in place that seems to have worn down, so that the watch keep slides around a bit, allowing the free end of the strap to poke out. But that is the only drawback to this watch. Otherwise, I'd have to say it's perfect for my needs.Update: Dec 2012After a year of daily use, the watch keep wore out, and started to spin on the band. It was my absentminded habit to reset it several times a day. Then it fell off. Then about a month later, the rubbery plastic watch band ripped all the way through. I wish I could just replace the band and be back in business.I will NOT buy another disposable Ironman watch with a plastic band that will only last about two years. Are you reading this, Timex? As soon as you make a women's Ironman watch with a *durable* band, I'll buy another one!I'll keep my broken-band watch in the exercise room for the lap timer, which is why I had to have the Ironman in the first place.Update: Feb 2013I bought and returned a
Timex Women's T2N173 EZ Reader Bracelet Watch
because the Indiglo had a "six o'clock shadow." The quality of Timex watches has slipped considerably over the years! I'll go back to the non-Indiglo, "pre-cheapness" Timex watch I used to use before I got the disposable Ironman watches. That's the greenest solution.

Beautiful, not durable
5 stars for looks - this is one of the nicest looking sports watches I have ever seen or used. I don't really like the clunky look of many sports watches but this one is feminine and cute as well as functional.1 star for durability - I purchased this watch in March. As of today, July 18, I have had to stop wearing the watch. I wore it to run and cycle is mostly dry weather for a couple of months. I wore it to swim (for fun, not exercise) in the pool with my kids. Last week, I went to an amusement park in Florida and got rained on. Following the rain, my watch face fogged over halfway. The next morning, the face was completely fogged but I could still read the time. I had hoped it would dry out. Now, a full week later, it is still fogged inside and the time won't read.3 stars overall - I am willing to try again with another Timex watch. We will see what happens with the new one.Update 1/25/12: The second watch I bought has worked fine for 6 months with swimming, showering and rain. The band has discolored, though, but I still wear the watch. The original one I received got tossed into a drawer in my bathroom. After about three months, the fog finally cleared out.Update 6/28/12: My second watch continues to function fine. I trained for a triathlon this spring swimming in the watch 2-3 times per week. I do not use the timer/lap features in the pool because the buttons are not waterproof. I bought a ring lap counter that actually does a better job keeping track of my laps in the pool. The band is still quite discolored from the original light grey color but a casual observer would not notice that this is not the original color of the watch. Still 3 stars for the cosmetic flaw but I am still using this watch daily.Update 3/12/13: My second watch broke where the band connects to the face. After a year, the first one dried out but fogged the first time I tried to get it wet. Maybe my expectations are high, but at this price range, I expect more than a year or so out of a sports watch.

Love it
People say who needs a watch - use your cell phone. I don't like to carry my phone 24/7 and sometime its a hassle to dig it out every time you want to check the time. Both my daughter and I ordered these. I love it when traveling, camping, boating, running errands, etc. My daughter is on the swim team and teaches swim lessons. She loves that she can time laps while swimming or running and keep track of the time during her lessons. Plus, her phone alarm did not work during a trip to Europe so she used her watch. I do not use most of the many features. But my daughter does and loves it.Both of our watches are holding up great after two years. The lighter color on my daughter discolored over time due to the chlorine & everyday wear. She order a new ironman watch in a darker color. I don't wear mine as much and it's holding up great!

Perfect for Travel
I travel for work, and tend to lose track of the date when I'm on the road. I love this watch because I can shower with it on (I tend to forget my watch if I have to take it off at night), and it has the date on it. The dual time helps for when I have to change time zones. I can just press a button to see what time it is at home before I call my honey at the end of the day. :-)The timer's handy for baking, or for reminding me of last-minute meetings (the impromptu meetings that don't make it onto my phone's/exchange server's calendar).I've always loved the mini IronMan watches. I was bummed when they got rid of the original mini version, but delighted when they exchanged those for these more feminine versions.Oh, and I was a little concerned that the colors might be bright and distracting - I'm not a fan of purple, and I was worried that the silver might be a bit gaudy - but it's really not. It's actually a nice accent, even with my dress shirts. :-)

Looked great original sand replacement broke within 24 hours
Bought for my wife. The first lasted nearly 24 house then the back light stopped working. The replacement lasted 10 minutes. Very disappointed in Timex for making such a poor quality watch. Amazon were very quick to replace and then refund. Good customer service, but they shouldn't stock such poor quality products.

Fast shipping and excellent packaging. The Leatherman tool feels very premium and sturdy.
Timex Group B.V. is one of the best-known American watch companies. Timex's U.S. headquarters are located in Middlebury Connecticut and it has substantial operations in China, the Philippines and India and full scale sales companies in Canada, the UK, France and Mexico.
The company began in 1854 as Waterbury Clock in Connecticut's Naugatuck Valley, known during the nineteenth century as the \"Switzerland of America.\" Sister company Waterbury Watch manufactured the first inexpensive mechanical pocket watch in 1880. During World War I, Waterbury began making wristwatches, which had only just become popular, and in 1933 it made history by creating the first Mickey Mouse clock under license from Walt Disney, with Mickey's hands pointing the time.
During World War II, Waterbury renamed itself U.S. Time Company. In 1950 the company introduced a wristwatch called the Timex. Over the next three decades, Timex was sold through a series of advertisements which emphasized its durability by putting the watch through \"torture tests,\" such as falling over the Grand Coulee Dam or being strapped to the propeller of an outboard motor, with the slogan \"It takes a licking and keeps on ticking.\" With the help of former Olympic broadcaster, spokesman John Cameron Swayze, sales took off. The company later became Timex Corporation, then Timex Group and, to date, has sold over one billion watches.
The company has remained very competitive and the Timex brand continues its dominance through present day. Its primary market remains the United States and Canada, although the Timex brand is sold worldwide due to its ability to capitalize on its strong brand image and reputation for quality.
One of the most successful and important features available on many Timex watches is the Indiglo backlight system. Indiglo is a brand name of Indiglo Corporation, solely owned by Timex for licensing purposes. Timex electroluminescent lamps, branded Indiglo, were introduced in 1992 in the Ironman watch line. They were an immediate success. The Indiglo lamp uniformly lights the surface of the Timex’s watch dials in a manner that makes the dial read very easily in many different light settings. In some newer watches the Indiglo backlight only lights up the numbers, rather than the entire LCD display, which is achieved by means of a specialized film that inverts the LCD transmissivity.
Today, Timex Group products are manufactured in the Far East and in Switzerland often based on technology that continues to be developed in the United States and in Germany. With a large and varied line of watches, Timex has the style for everyone. From the locker room to the board room, there is a great Timex style time-piece for you.
