Updated Review: I was contacted by the creators of this box who wanted to guarentee customer satsifaction, and they offered me a replacement. The replacement arrived today and is a much better quality. The paint job is better and there are no dents/knicks in the woodwork. It seems to be of the quality I was expecting and will do well for what I need it for.I'm more than happy to recommend this product, and a big thank you for the customer service team for seeking me out. It was an unexpected pleasure, especailly during the Covid crisis.Original review:I'd been looking for a box like this for a few months and thought this would be ideal. It's for a gift box for my wife. Unfortunately, upon arrival, I was let down.There were quite large debts6/knicks on the base and the paint on the top was t consistent, leading to patches.The only reason I'm not free returning this is due to the covid outbreak. In hindsight I should trusted the reviews more on here. I wouldn't recommend this product.

Great size. Sturdy so can take weight of contents. Would have liked latch so could stand box on end but it's so great it's not a deal breaker. Great surface so can easily be personalised with decoupage or painting.

Positives:* very lightweight* great size* no sharp cornersNegatives:* scratched paint on the front right side of the box about 2.5 inches long* inside of box is poorly finished with rough patches and some chipped paint* right side hinge is defective- sticks out and lid does not align* really soft, poor quality hingesSo disappointed in this. I bought this instead of a card based magnetic box thinking that it would be an ungrade as I was making a memory box for a new arrival in my family.The outer box was undamaged and there was no damage to the plastic wrap around the actual wooden box. There was no padding around the box itself to protect it.I took a chance that mine would be one of the ones that would arrive undamaged...but luck was not on my side.

I use mine on my coffee table to act as a raised surface to use my mouse. Room inside to hide any bits and pieces. The wood is cheap quality and the paint finish is rough. You can always go over it in gloss if you want a perfect finish. If you treat it with respect it will last. Knock it about it will break.

Poor finish for painted item, great design, but very, very rough, had to sand & repaint areas as needed urgently . If I had known I would have got the bare pine wood one cheaper, manythanks amazon for part refund, great customer service.

I bought this after buying the L version a couple of weeks ago. It's perfect for keeping small items in, such as makeup and toiletries. The box arrived in perfect condition and is exactly as pictured, down to the colour and finish. I have no complaints and use it for storage in my bedroom, where it's on display and looks nice. You can tell it's handmade, and there was a tiny bit of sawdust inside that I just wiped off, but that's part of the charm.

Was worried about the recent reviews, but mine turned up in perfect condition and can’t believe I was able to find such an oddly sized box so perfect for the space I needed. Delighted!

Plain pine box roughly painted with poor quality paint. Hinges are cheap. This is a DIY craft box being sold as a nice finished product. Not good value for money.
