Great product! I have been dealing with a flea ...
Great product! I have been dealing with a flea issue in my house hold for a couple of weeks and have literally tried everything. Mine you I have two cats and one dog, which means every time the dog goes out in come more fleas. After trying various flea sprays and shampoos and no luck, I decided to give this soap a shot. Once bathing the animals I immediately saw fleas dying which never happened with all other products used. It left them flea free and loved the smell and there skin was relieved from the irritation of scratching. I love that its all natural no weird chemicals that will harm my pets. I now use it on them once a month or every two weeks if needed, however since the first bath I still have not seen any more fleas so clearly it repels them. Awesome product, happy customer over here!

It's part of the solution, not all of it.
Mmmmm! If you like citrus smells, you will love the smell of your dogs after you have shampooed them with this soap. But that is not the reason I bought this soap. I have been on a quest for some years to find a natural soap that repels ticks and fleas. We have 9 dogs and live in the countryside of Tennessee, surrounded by woods. Ticks and fleas are a constant battle for several months of the year. I prefer natural medicines to chemical approaches wherever possible. This soap meets many of the criteria in terms of being organic and made with natural ingredients. The dogs seem to be happy having it rubbed on them and we have found that using the bar of soap is easier than traditional shampoo.Overall, I like the soap. It has not been 100% effective at repelling fleas - although it does seem to have been very effective at repelling ticks. The soap does appear to kill fleas on contact, and we have seen many dead fleas in the bath water on emptying it out. It doesn't seem to kill ticks on contact. We found that any ticks already attached to the dogs your need to pull out with tweezers. But after that they did seem to remain tick free for the week until their next bath. The fleas were reduced a lot, but not completely eliminated. So, sadly this is not the complete solution - but it is part of a combined approach. We have been using this soap for about 6 weeks on its own. We are now in the process of combining it with Natural Fleas & Tick drops OUT! Natural Care Flea and Tick Drops, Medium and food grade diatomaceous earth to see what difference that makes.

Amazing stuff!
Amazing stuff!! I bought this for my cat because I was 95% sure he didn't have fleas, but he was scratching, so I wanted to take measures to make sure. Turns out he didn't have fleas but the natural oils in the shampoo bar nourished and relieved his skin, so no more scratching! I highly recommend this product. This was my first time using a shampoo bar on an animal, but I actually liked it better because I didn't have to worry about the bottle slipping and sliding everywhere, spills and dropping the bottle and breaking it. I also used this on dog and chickens (not easy at all).

I feel like letting the soap sit on him for a minute ...
You sort of have to manage your expectations with this soap. It works to handle the fleas currently on your animal. It doesn't prevent future fleas. At least not for long. The puppy I got came with fleas and he was too small for most of the medicated flea killer stuff that's available. That's why I went for this. It does kill some of them. This has been my method for handling fleas on a 2month old puppy. I bathe him with this soap. I fill my wheel barrow up with some water and make the water soapy and then I rub the bar on him as well. I let it sit a minute or two while I struggle to keep him in the wheelbarrow. Then I rinse him with the soapy water. That sorta helps the soap get all the way down to the skin. I feel like letting the soap sit on him for a minute or so aids in suffocating the bugs. After I rinse him with soapy water, I use a light setting on my hose and rinse all of the soap out. Next, I cover him in coconut oil. This helped heal some of the owies he made while scratching at the bugs. It also makes it harder for the bugs to latch back on to him. While the coconut oil is on him, I use a flea comb to try and get the ones that are not quite dead off of him. Once I give up and leave the few that remain, I douse his collar in either lemongrass or lavender essential oil and then put it back on him. I read that the bugs don't like the smell. It's a lot of work, but it's worked for me. I'd rather take the time to do it than hear his poor whine from having to scratch so much. Now that he's a bit bigger he can groom better and that has also helped. I don't do this whole thing as often any more.I do like this soap, but I think sealing the deal with coconut oil sort of enhances the effect. Just my opinion.

Updating My Review After Getting Infested with Fleas.
I am very sad to say that what I thought had been working all these years does not work if you get fleas in your yard. I have been a long time user of the soap, believing that it has kept my dog free of fleas and ticks. This year, our yard has become infested with fleas and our dog got them. Both he and our home are infested. Neither the soap or the spray (I purchased the $80/$90 gallon of the cedar scent spray), have worked either to keep the fleas off of our dog or kill them. When we spray the fleas, we can see them simply running away on him. When we bathe him, he seems ok for less than an hour, (We even spray him after the bath with the soap), we find him covered with fleas again the next day, so the spray is not helping to repel anything. We even spray our carpets with the spray - Sadly the product is not working.

WONDERFUL PRODUCT - GREAT PRICE
UPDATE: MY VET SURPRISED HIMSELF AND OTHERS WHEN HE ANNOUNCED LOUDLY "THIS DOG HAS NO FLEAS!" WHAT BETTER TESTIMONIAL FOR THIS PRODUCT THAN A VET CHECKING YOUR ANIMAL AND MAKING THAT PROFOUND A STATEMENT. He checked for fleas and flea dirt with a flea comb and found NOTHING. Spanky sleeps much better and lets us sleep much better. Grass still makes him itch - but that is all. Spanky's skin is much more subtle, his hair looks better and he is loving his baths. ORIGINAL REVIEW: My husband and I love this all natural Shampoo Bar. It works in repelling fleas and ticks and it is, in our opinion, much easier to use than a shampoo bottle.
