The 2-in-1 BTX Ultra keeps your legacy audio devices in line with current technology. This ultra-compact Bluetooth adapter with a long battery life functions as both a transmitter (up to eleven hours when fully charged) and a receiver (up to six hours). They also work each other as a paired transmitter and receiver if needed. BTX Ultra pairs well with your television! In transmit mode between a Bluetooth headset and your TV, there's no delay between sound and image, thanks to static-free Bluetooth stereo audio quality with an aptX low latency codec. (Please note: for apt-X low latency mode (lag free transmission), it is required that both Bluetooth receiver and transmitter support apt-X low latency.) With Brightech’s BTX Ultra, you can Bluetooth-enable any legacy device as long as it has a 3.5mm phone jack. BTX Ultra comes with a 3.5mm cable and adapter that lets you convert to dual RCA males – a genuine solution if you want to send/receive Bluetooth sound from devices that aren't Bluetooth capable. BTX Ultra also lets you control streaming from all audio sources within a 10-meter range. Staying up late or rising early? This adapter lets you listen to your shows on a Bluetooth headset without waking up the household or disturbing your neighbors. There are no synching issues between audio and video, plus you can easily pick up where you left off. The 2-in-1 BTX Ultra auto connects with devices it has paired with in the past!

Works well, just not as described . . .
I must admit to being frustrated by getting this device to pair with ANY of my three Bluetooth enabled, portable speakers, particularly after seeing the glowing reviews by others. So frustrated, in fact, that I got a replacement from BrightTech, who was very willing to work (by e-mail) to my satisfaction. You see, I've had absolutely no issues getting my Windows laptop, iPad and Android phone to pair with these same speakers. Finally, someone (locally) showed me what I was doing wrong. It seems that the red/blue LED functions quite differently than described in the manual. It seems I was too impatient, once the BTX Ultra went into pairing mode (rapidly flashing between red & blue). After SEVERAL SECONDS in (and out of) pairing mode, followed by a couple of "beeps" from the speaker, the pairing occurred and Bluetooth transmission functioned, as expected. FYI: the paired unit displays a quick, double blue flash, roughly, every four seconds. I also learned, from BrighTech, that the unit can be "reset" by holding down the button for several seconds (not in the manual). This breaks any pairing with a previous device. Hope this helps others in getting their units to properly transmit/receive signals.

Muffled low volume sound.
Everything worked as promised, except the sound was terrible. Low volume and muffled, in either direction. I returned it the next day, and ordered [aptX Low Latency] TROND® 2 in 1 Wireless Bluetooth 4.1 Audio Transmitter and Receiver - Bluetooth Transmitter for TV, iPod, MP3, CD Player or e-Reader; Bluetooth Receiver for Car or Home Stereo which works perfectly and sounds GREAT.Other reviews don't mention terrible sound, so maybe the one I received was defective.

Can't imagine not having my Brightech
I got one of these a year ago and it was awesome from day one. Easy to connect in either send transmit or receive mode. My primary use is in my car where I connect to cable and have instant blue tooth to my phone. Got it on easy reach on front of my console with velcro. Charge it up on weekend and it lasts all week. In transmit mode the lag is virtually un-noticable. I can connect to my headphones out jack on stereo receiver and then connect my blue tooth headphones to it. This is a huge sync improvement over just connecting headphones to stereo or to something like Roku or FireTV. My worst problem??? Losing my first one while on a trip! Quickly ordered another one to replace it. I'm a techie and this is one of the top devices I've purchased recently. Can't get along without it.

a great little product so far
This has been a great little product so far. I've used it with an iPod classic and my TV and it's worked perfectly with both. Some have talked about a small lag time but I have not noticed any lag at all while watching netflix (and that lag thing does bother me so I was watching for it). It's very tiny--about the size of a zippo and very light. Just a personal preference: it would be nice if the connecting 3.5 cord was longer so it wouldn't hang from my tv jack, but a lot of people may appreciate that it's short for other purposes. It paired easily with my headphones and quickly remembers the pairing when I turn them on. When I use it with my iPod classic and bluetooth earbuds the volume controls on my earbuds work fine, but I don't seem to be able to advance the tracks. This may be an issue with my particular wireless earbuds and/or my iPod; I'm not sure. Just thought I'd let people know if that's how you want to use it. It doesn't really make a difference to me since I use playlists and rarely need to skip tracks.

but it would be nice to leave the device plugged into the car or ...
I bought this because it is AP-X low latency (bluetooth is sent & received in nanoseconds), it both sends and receives bluetooth signals, it is small and it has a long battery life. Plus it comes with a component hook-up, so you can play it in even more old devices. I've tested it and it does all of the things it's supposed to do. I use the transmit function on the airplane on transcontinental flights. This allows me to watch movies, plug the bluetooth transmitter into the seat and listen to the movie with my wireless headphones that are always in my backpack anyway. I use the receive function of this device to put whatever is on my phone (Pandora, my songs, or Youtube), on any old stereo or TV that someone has.I can't think of anything different to be done with this device except working while charging. I may never even need that feature, but it would be nice to leave the device plugged into the car or airplane sound jack while also plugged into the charger and never have to plan a charge. But again, the extra long battery life of the device means that scenario is unlikely... I'm just writing this to point out the little things that could be done to make this device more perfect, which I can do for all of my favorite things (no such thing as absolute perfection afterall).5 stars though because this device is a very reasonable price and does everything I bought it to do: AP-X low latency, it both sends and receives bluetooth signals, it is very small has a long battery life.

Excellent way to connect HDTV wirelessly to stereo receiver.
This thing worked perfectly to send the audio from my Vizio 50" HDTV hanging on one wall to my stereo receiver located on the other side of the room. Running cords through the walls and under the house was not an option, and I couldn't move the receiver if I wanted to use the in-ceiling speakers that were installed before we bought the house.I bought two of these on Amazon this morning, got them in the evening (free same-day shipping is sweet), and had sound going to the receiver and thus my in-ceiling speakers in 5 minutes. No noticeable lag or delay, just some shuttering in the sound if I was messing with the units. One is putty-tacked to the wall out of site behind the TV using one of the USB ports on the TV for power, the other is putty tacked to the top of the stereo receiver with the USB cord plugged into an old phone charger that I could then plug into the power outlet. The sound is great, no one in the family could see any lag, they are super small, and pretty inexpensive. Definitely recommend this product!
