Plug and play. Super easy installation.
This is an awesome way to renew an old iPod. It's literally plug and play. No screws. Just pop the iPod open and swap the hard drive. I used a 512 GB Samsung micro SD with an SD adapter. If you are new to this, I recommend using Windows for the format and restore process. Windows iTunes seems to work more smoothly with these old iPods.

Revived my iPod Classic!
I got an iPod Classic from my cousin who got it for free from his work. After a few short days of listening to my own music on it, the hard drive crashed and the entire iPod was completely inoperable because of it. That's when I decided I'd not only fix my iPod, but also upgrade it by expanding its storage from the original 80GB to 128GB.The process wasn't easy at first; Apple made sure their iPods were sealed tight, so I had some trouble opening mine at first. Once I did though, replacing the hard drive was as simple as removing it and plugging this in its place. I inserted a compatible SD card, formatted the iPod through iTunes, and it's good as new now!I've been using this in my daily driver iPod for months now and it still works perfectly. It's a lot lighter which is nice. The battery does indeed last longer since it doesn't use nearly as much power to access the SD card as it does to spin up the hard drive. Very happy with this replacement and I'll definitely be purchasing another one when my other iPod Classic hard drive fails too.

Great and easy upgrade to iPod 5th Gen 5.5 Video (Classic)
This will greatly increase your storage, speed, and reliability of your iPod 5th Gen 5.5 Video (Classic).Note: You need to also purchase a single SD card (or micro with a SD adapter). Also make sure you you check the compatibility chart at the Iflash website, as some cheaper SD cards don't work.I used a PNY 512GB Elite-X Class 10 U3 V30 SDXC Flash Memory Card and it worked great. The upgrade is very easy, just watch some youtube videos a used a guitar pick. Make sure to pay most attention to how to release each ribbon cable as that is the hardest part of the process. I also got a new front face as mine was all scratched, a new battery (old battery expanded and broke my screen), a new screen, while I had it disassembled. With this upgrade you can fit a much larger battery as there is no longer a bulky disk drive. When you are complete and power it up you will have to connect to Itunes and do a factor reset to reload iTunes, so you will lose everything that's on the iPod so ensure there is nothing you need on the iPod before you begin. Once the Itunes updated you will now have tons of storage to reload as much music as you want.I upgraded from 60GB to 512GB!

Rocking the iPod with 256GB
Received and bought a 256GB Samsung Evo Plus SD card to pair with it. So far so good, fit well, works well, and iPod Classic 5th Gen has 256GB of storage now. I did drop my iPod and the SD card popped out of its enclosure, but I opened up the iPod, put the SD car back in place, and held it down with a piece of tape. Been working flawlessly since.

Perfect upgrade for aging iPod Classic
Works perfectly, uses much less power and generates no noise. Great upgrade for an aging iPod - I put it into iPod classic 160 GB (model A1238 / LC297LL). Opening the case is a bit tricky and be careful with the ribbon tape. I recommend replacing the battery as well during the same time.
