>> DOES THE JOB
> Retail box constructed of very thin, flimsy, cardboard, providing little protection. I was sure that one or more bulb would fail to work, so I tested them immediately -- and ALL worked fine.> Nominally as bright as a 100-125watt incandescent bulb (but seems to be not quite as bright as Sylvania 72978 1600 lumen daylight LED bulbs. The Great Eagles may be 1200-1400 lumens).> Most of the fixtures in my home are rated for a maximum of 75watt incandescent bulbs -- mostly because of the heat that incandescents generate. LED bulbs produce very little heat, and draw 1/10th or less the electricity -- so you can use much brighter LED bulbs than most fixtures are rated for. I've replaced all the 60-75watt incandescent in my home with 1600 lumen LEDs, and the effect is incredible -- its SO MUCH brighter. I never realized that I've been living in dimly-lit caves most of my life -- really! The Great Eagle Daylight bulb has a "color temperature" of 5000K, which means "daylight" color (the light from many other bulbs is reddish [aka "warm"] or bluish [aka "cool"]). The Great Eagle Daylight bulbs (and other "daylight" bulbs) really have that wonderful crisp effect of daylight. Everything in my home looks "new". Indoors at night is like sitting on my patio on a sunny afternoon. Wonderful!> Light bulbs are now described by the metal screw-in base size ("E") and the shape size of the glass part ("A"). The Great Eagle Daylight bulb has a standard, ordinary, medium, base, i.e., "E26" (E27 in Europe = 1 inch = 26-27mm wide) like all of, or the vast majority of, the light-bulbs in your house or apartment. The glass part of "A19" bulbs is about the size of a 75 watt incandescent bulb, so they fit well in fixtures designed for 60-75 watt incandescent bulbs (in comparison, the Sylvania 72978 1600 lumen bulbs is much larger -- the size of a 125 watt incandescent bulb)HOW WELL DOES IT WORK WITH DIMMERS?> The Great Eagle Daylight works well with my "legacy" "incandescent" Lutron Skylark fan/light controller for my ceiling fans, and a Lutron "legacy" "incandescent" Credenza dimmer for my floor lamp. However, in both cases, the light level dropped off very abruptly below about 70% of the slider travel. It was difficult to adjust to a light level below about 30%. So I upgraded to a Lutron Maestro fan/light controller and a Lutron Skylark dimmer, both rated for dimmable LEDs. But, neither would dim the Great Eagle Daylight below about 70%, at all. I've since learned that this is typical for moderately-priced upgrade dimmers.> FLICKERING -- I haven't notice any flickering with Great Eagle Daylight bulbs. This is a powerline issue -- some dimmable bulbs flicker when used with some "legacy" "incandescent" dimmers when there is a fluctuation in line voltage. The LED-rated Lutron dimmers are supposed to eliminate this effect -- but I haven't been using them long enough to confirm this (my local power is very stable).> NOISE -- Although not related to the Great Eagle Daylight dimmable LED lightbulbs, ceiling fans can buzz and make noises when used with "wall switch" controllers at less than maximum speed -- and that noise is said to be bad for the motor. The Lutron Maestro fan/light controller is said to eliminate this, and I've heard no buzzing of the fan with the Maestro controller. Indeed I may upgrade my other ceiling fans to Maestro controllers primarily for this purpose (with the possible added benefit of eliminating even occasional flickering of dimmable LED bulbs).

LIKE these as they are SAME SIZE as normal bulbs
LIKE these as they are SAME SIZE as normal bulbs , so I was able to fit them into my fan/ceiling lights and now have much more light. Also, mine arrived the NEXT day after ordering, which I appreciate. They seem nice and bright ... but just got them today so can't comment on life expectancy etc.

Excellent bulbs
Love these in our bathrooms as they put out a huge amount of light. Best of all they work perfectly with our Lutron caseta dimmer switches. Will definitely be ordering more for other areas of the house.

Very good product, but...
Unfortunately, I'm having to send this product back to Amazon. This is a very good product but, it's not quite working out for me and my near-50 year old, 3-way floor lamp. In my case, I've been looking for the ideal 3-way, LED bulb with 4000K brightness for my lamp, that would be compatible with a mechanical timer. I've been using CFLs with this lamp and they work but, like most everyone else, I hate the "warm-ups", and I think that their quality has suffered as of late. About 2 years ago, I replaced my old CFL (it lasted 8 years) with a new one. Okay, for a $20 bulb, and with my home's high usage of it, I thought it would last another 8 years. I was okay with that. NOPE! Didn't even make 2 years!!! All the while, my lamp's mechanical timer has been in it. No lighting problems, till now...Generally speaking, there are few 3-way LED choices out there, especially those with a UL and/or an ETL listing (sorry but, SAFETY FIRST!!!) A few friends recommended getting a bulb with a dimmer capability but, I didn't find any 3-way bulbs that were dimmable. So, I called myself compromising by getting these. These DO WORK and the 4000K brightness is excellent. However, I later found out that the 150 bulb wattage was also used with this lamp by other family members. So...back to the drawing board on getting the ideal 3-way LED bulb for my home's needs. After doing a bit more research and talking with family members yesterday, here's a possible solution for me.According to a relative of mine who's also an electrician, I CAN get and use a 3-way LED, non-dimmable bulb with my lamp but there's a catch...he recommended that I buy and use a DIGITAL timer instead of using my analog, mechanical timer. He thought that most digital timers on the market today are compatible with LED bulbs, more so than the mechanical ones. Okay...so now I have to get a digital timer in addition to a 3-way LED bulb. I'm hoping that this set-up will work...we'll see.And that's why I have to send these bulbs back to Amazon.

Three years later they’re still great!
I’ve had two of these in my floor lamp for three years and a month. They are very bright (I have cool white) and provide light for my work desk. Good for putting on makeup too. I recommend them to everyone.
