Q: are these lined inside?

No, they don't have any extra lining in my boots! They were listed as Rain boots, but I have worn them in th snow also. The soles grab the grass sticks, & snow. It's hard to stomp all that junk off the bottom of the boots They are great for the rain tho!

Q: So i am considering these boots to use here in -35 degree weather in North Dakota.. i would love to hear if you think theyd work?

I have lived in Edmonton, Alberta for several years so I know exactly the weather you speak of. Buy a pair a good 2 sizes larger than you would normally order and wear a good warm thick sock and you will love them. They are so light weight that you forget you have them on. I live in NY State and could if I wanted wear them bare foot and be warm.
