Back in 2015 this was great. Today it's out of date and has huge a design flaw
Good:Pretty good sound out of small speakers. Good bass.Supports some dolby and DTS but not the newer versions like Atmos.Easy to set up and use. BUT requires optical, coaxial input or analog 5.1 channel or dual stereo inputs. Not HDMI tap.Doesn't create a lot of heat.BAD:Using Toslink digital it will drop out when you stop and start playing something new with a loud Click. Every Damn Time. Even if you just skip ahead in a song. It will drive you crazy.

Needs to have a better design
I’m gonna give my honest review this is a great system if this is your first ever home theater set up but this system has many flaws. For one the subwoofer is over rated it does great if your listening to music but when it comes to the movies the sub will clip if it goes below 50 hz and the volume is past 50. Another thing I have a big living room and the description of this product was it could easily fill a big room up with sound this is false if you put it on the boost setting you risk blowing your speakers and everything start to distort. My true opinion to Edifier this is a 3.5 review for me . Tips this is more a music system than home theater the sub needs some major work and the speakers need to be upgraded .

The speaker system sounds awesome. I bought several different systems
The speaker system sounds awesome. I bought several different systems, and then the Edifier... for your 'around $1000' sounds systems this will fill a family room with sound pretty easily and sound great. The sub actually sounds like a sub compared to the other systems and keeps on sounding like a sub when you push it's volume instead of fuzzing out. It's heavy, those speakers are heavier then the others I've owned, these being made out of wood and looking nice, and they also keep up to the volume of the sub.One of my favorite features is being able to adjust the voume of each of the speakers. This is fun for messing around with sound effects when you play music through it or watch a movie.Worth the buy.... Until I commit to dropping $5k on a home theater... I think this is an awesome choice. Sound great with Video games to.The only thing I had to learn... With any of your 'plug the speakers into the subs amp' systems, it takes a one or two seconds to bleed to volume. I've learned this is normal on this system and systems a like. I eliminated this effect by playing to sounds at the same time... one sound will be a music at like 3% volume (hardly audible) which becomes totally inaudible once watching a movie, playing video games, whatever.... But it's really not necessary unless your show or music has 100% cut out of volume during it's playing.Great systemAwesome sounding sub, definitely on the top in it's level for keeping up with the volume.great sounding, sturdy speakers,Looks awesome.Easy control system.plenty of options to be able to connect it to everything/multiple things. serisously... read the connectivity. you can run a lot through it all at the same time if you need that.
