DenTekUltimate Dental Guard to Help Prevent Night Time Teeth Grinding (Bruxism)

Having already used a full mouth Dentek guard without any problem, I ordered this one to cover the back teeth only. It was a complete waste of money. I tried three times to get it fitting as instructed, but the best I could manage was only one side fitting and staying in situ, and then soon falling out. The material doesn't seem deep enough to embed the teeth sufficiently for the guard to stay in. The material also seems too hard to become pliable enough in hot water. I agree with other reviewers that there would be a risk of it coming off and choking the user during sleep. I couldn't give nil stars, so had to give one star to start the review, but this product is useless. Instead I bought a full mouth Dentek guard which I have used and fitted without problems

I have had at least 4 of these now and never an issue, follow the instructions and you won’t have an issue. Bite down a little hard when you are creating the mould then ease off a little for the remainder of the time.

Unfortunately, it is small in the mouth and feels like you are chewing it, resulting in a lot of saliva and swallowing, also leading to fear of swallowing it and choking. May work fine for other people. I did buy the other full mouth guard and that works better for me.

I wish I had taken the bad reviews seriously.The reason I bought this is I wanted a dental guard that didn't feel bulky. But the thing is, this product doesn't work.When on hot water, I noticed it has shirked. I tried to do the mould thing anyway and even though I bit it very hard, that guard barely changed the shape and the as result it didn't feel secure AT ALL in the mouth. IT WON'T STAY IN THE RIGHT PLACE. Totally waste of money. Plus I'm pretty sure you could choke sleeping with it in the mouth.

This works BUT I should not I did NOT follow the instructions given. I had already purchased the Dentek all round bite guard which instructed you could either boil the guard in the forming tray for 45 seconds, then remove from the boiling pot with a fork, run under water for a second, position and then bite down. This guard didn’t work with me biting so I used my fingers to press down as hard as I could against my teeth for the 3 minutes instructed. This gave me a perfect mould and comfortable fit. The reason I got this one is because it’s less bulky than a standard night guard which I can barely close my mouth using and it’s fit for purpose. Hopefully that helps someone!

The media could not be loaded. I have been clenching my teeth day & night, causing myself terrible achy teeth and headaches. I was a bit dubious as this product had such a low rating but decided to give it a try as I didn’t want to go with the bulky full size mouth guard and also wanted to avoid paying over £300 with the dentist, if possible. I received mine today and followed the instruction to a tee…bar one thing. I actually moulded my guard to my bottom set of teeth, rather than the top as I have a tooth extracted on either side and thought I may get a more secure fit on my bottom set for that reason. I have been pleasantly shocked how well they fit my teeth. Very snug and secure and comfy from the first time wear. They fit so well that I have to lift them away with my tongue or finger - not loose at all! The only reason I can see that some others have had bad results is that they likely did not read the instructions properly and/or follow the instructions precisely. As long as you do that you will be more than happy with the results. These honestly exceeded my expectations especially considering I was able to opt for my lower jaw rather than upper and they didn’t even state that was an option. They say night time protection on the box but I also read an article rating them as the best guard for daytime clenching, so I will be using them for both. It is small and discreet enough for me to wear them during the day without an issue. They are supposed to last for 6 months and if it does hold up well I certainly won’t regret that I signed up for a (4-monthly) subscription for these. They should certainly be rated higher than they currently are in any case.

Didn't work for me... Found the moulding process very uncomfortable (have to bite firmly for several minutes) and couldn't get the guard to stay put on my teeth. It was uncomfortable to wear and kept dropping off. The guard didn't really survive being remoulded as per the instructions. Not recommended for the price.

I consider myself to be a pretty competent person and the instructions that accompany this are NOT easy to follow. The product is small and fragile and try as I might, I could not get it to mould properly and therefore fit properly. Not a great product, not comfortable, and judging by the multitude of other similar comments, it's not just me that feels this way.
