It is an attractive looking compass.
I love the old timey look of this. Real brass and glass. Accurate but slow reading. It's pretty heavy and large. You can tell its handmade...

Garbage
Arrived securely wrapped in bubble wrap. Glass lens was popped out, and it isn’t even close to a tight fit in it’s pocket. The bezel had fallen off also. It does not fit well either. The compass also doesn’t indicate the correct direction. 0 stars would be a better review. Waste of money.

A real find probably never again!
These old british military compasses were manufactured in India in 1940 using red brass highest quality brass made.magnetic compasses need to be synced to magnetic north with a magnet placed on the 360 exactly for 1 minute then released.it will read acuratley after that.these were used by engineers who needed the best quality.if you have one your lucky.

Pass it by
Purchased as a gift for my son who is a pilot. While I didn’t expect him to use it, I did expect it to work. It looks nice, however not even close to working. Will not point to north. I literally have gotten better compasses as a free toy in a box of cracker jacks.

Graphics on the glass don't stay on.
The media could not be loaded. This is a nice well-built reproduction solid brass unit. The problem is the print on the glass bezel and Compass sighting glass don't stay on the glass they're only litely printed on the glass, not etched It wears off. That's the only problem I see otherwise it's a very solid well-built piece. For a reproduction in solid brass. I'm going scribe a line to attach the sight line on the glass with a titanium tip pen. Just so it stays on the glass. Then I will use a marker to mark that scribed line in the glass. And make it a usable durable compass. It's a nice piece and a nice replication in solid brass other than that factor. Very solid very well manufactured for its reproduction quality. I Like it! Thanks
