Ultrabase DVD accessory dock a great way to upgrade your Thinkpad X200s !
This is a great accessory for any Lenovo Thinkpad X200 Ultraportable. These great little mini business class laptops can dock right into this unit, which contains:DVD player / burner.Tons of USB & other portsSpeakers which while not fabulous, are a decent improvement over the weaker single speaker in computer itself.Using this unit does increase the 'heft' of this little unit, but that could be a positive as it's more substantial & a bit easier to use in some circumstances. One othrer reviewer did suggest having 2 of these, one for 'road use' & the other for only leaving on the office desk.I'm just may take his advice. One thing is sure: I'm happy I got this UltraBase.FYI, mine was 'NIB' new in box said made by Lenovo new production 2011 was the date I believe. So these appear to be NOS - New, Old Stock.Even better than refurbished !

Seller delivered, but poor Lenovo design resulted in audio+video plug problems.
I'm going to give this 4-stars because the seller delivered everything perfectly and in wonderful condition (I bought a used one for ~$16), but there are some Lenovo design faults that will be addressed. This thing is not worth the $100-150 price tag new, but $16 is more than worth it. Mine came with a DVD-RW (ad said it's a DVD-ROM but that was a typo as clearly i got a DVD-RW) which I tested and works perfect. The ONLY problems with this device are the fault of Lenovo's design+manufacturing. There is electrical interference for the 3.5mm audio-out plug and this causes a horrible background noise. I investigated this matter and it's due to a poor design by Lenovo which is caused by not enough (or none at all) shielding around the audio cabling. Also, when connecting to an external monitor/TV the VGA-out has a bit of static interference and it is mostly noticeable when the screen is black (such while watching a movie on the external monitor/TV and the screen is a dark scene). There is a solution for these issues which involves using other audio/video ports, if you will. Other than that, the device works as expected. Do not blame the seller for a "faulty" product, these audio/video issues are a design fault on Lenovo's part. I highly recommend this product bought USED (pay no more than ~$35ish). If you want to bypass the issues of the audio and VGA plugs on the ultrabase, you can bypass them by connecting directly to the laptop's ports. Though, I did find a solution for the ultrabase's audio and VGA plug problems. For the audio issue, I got a USB-headset (Razer Kraken 7.1 Headest (http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Kraken-Surround-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00EPAVKP0/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1421212312&sr=1-2&keywords=kraken+7.1+surround) that connects with USB instead of 3.5mm jack). This bypasses the poorly-shielded audio plug. You would alternatively get a USB stereo adapter that converts a USB port into 3.5mm audio+headphones jacks (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IRVQ0F8/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2YFU01ERNTS1T&coliid=ITHD1OKYWGD4B). For the video issue with the VGA port, I got a DVI-male to HDMI-female adapter (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ENH915G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) so that I can bypass the VGA connection and use a conventional HDMI digital connection. So in conclusion, I recommend this product if you need it, but using the 3.5mm audio plug and the VGA video plug may cause poor signal. So either plug them directly into the laptop (not the base), or use the alternatives I proposed.

... of connectors and the DVD burner to complement the wonderful Thinkpad x200
The ultrabase has tons of connectors and the DVD burner to complement the wonderful Thinkpad x200. Even it add some bulk tothe laptop, I like the base so much I am bringing the two together as one unit. Well designed and built. I bought a second base for home.

Lenovo X200 Dock with DVD
This is exactly what I wanted. I previously ordered a docking station and it did not have the DVD bundle attached. eDealer worked with me and answered my questions to make sure I knew what I was getting. I enjoyed their follow up. Great seller to work with!
