Remote control mega crane
Searching for remote control toys for young children that promote creative play and fine motor development left the kids frustrated and toys broken until this one. Kids, and grown-ups, loved it and were able to control it. It was surprisingly sturdy and easy to work.

Fun while it lasted...we've returned two so far
Our 3.5 yo son really loves it, so I really want to love it as well. The first one, a Christmas gift, broke within about 30 minutes of play...the winch no longer functioned. I took the upper motor housing apart and the motor just hummed when up or down was pressed.Returned that to ToysRUs for exchange, second winch was DOA...only would crank up not down; the winch must be a weak point. My wife wants us to try for a third time because he likes it so much.Pros:-Three controls, winch, pivot, and extension make it fun and versatile.-Counter-weight feature makes it more stable; I liked the challenge of figuring out how much was needed to stabilize the load. The max counterweight is 250g though the corresponding load would likely be too much for the motor.-Grappling hook (though rather fragile).Cons:-Cheaply constructed; cheap plastic everything. It will break sooner than later.-Battery door on controller loose when screw fully tightened; screw won't take much use.-Wired controller.-Durability; two units...two failures.-ToysRUs only gave us 30 days from original date of purchase then it's ours. No warranty period stated.I gave it two stars because, if you're mechanically inclined, you might be able to replace the motors if they fail and it was fun while it lasted.Unfortunately there are few highly rated alternatives...the best looks to be an all metal Eitech crane costing $350.[Edit: This has been cross posted among the other Fast Lane crane offerings. Not a verified purchase...purchased at a local ToysRUs.]Good luck.
