Perfect small filter for a small 1-3 gallon or shallow water tank. Have had it for several weeks now. I use this filter in my small red-claw crab tank. Within an hour the shallow water (about 4inches deep) was completely clear. The filter cartridges have activated carbon in them unlike some other tiny filters. The flow is great and pretty strong for a tiny filter pump, has no problem filtering all the water and creating circulation. The suction cups are strong and have not come loose at all in the several weeks I've had it. It's also very very quiet. You can buy the replacement filter cartridges on Amazon too. Works perfectly for my crab tank, and there are also a couple neon tetras and a snail in there that are enjoying the cycled water.

It was a good little filter until it stopped working for no reason! The suction was good and it worked perfectly while it was working! I would suggest finding another filter. If you are willing to buy a few and replace them when they stop working, then this is the filter for you!

Works great, just bought it for the second time! I use it in my hermit crab tank, it’s perfect for shallow water - only needs about 1” depth but can still go when it’s a little lower. Its not whisper silent but quiet enough you can’t hear it from another room.

There's a lot of inconsistency with this filter. I've bought several over the past few years for various purposes and I've had a couple of 'duds' in the batch. It's not that they don't work, but they vibrate and make an annoying sound that's impossible to ignore and it can't be fixed. If you get a 'good one' it's silent.I keep going back to it for fiddler and red claw crab tanks and I even have one for a betta. The water flow is mild enough that my betta isn't annoyed by it and it does a respectable job of keeping his 3 gallon tank clean. The crab tanks have a 'beach' and a low water area and this filter keeps the water very clean. The water volume the filter cleans is about 2-3 gallons. Even with extra filter medium I don't think it could handle more water volume than that. If you need a low water filter or something that doesn't have a powerful flow this may be the one for you. It's cheap, give it a try.

This little filter works great, but I have searched everywhere and can’t find replacement cartridges! They are L-shaped, so I can’t replace them with a different brand’s cartridge. I see that the replacements WERE available on Amazon at some point, but are no longer available. At this price point, I could just buy a whole new filter every few weeks, but that’s so wasteful. I will be looking for a new low water filter that has easy-to-purchase replacement filter cartridges. I wish I had realized this would be an issue when I went on my initial search for a low water filter.https://a.co/d/01lrZ6bn

I am amazed of how silent this water filter is, it's perfect for my five gallons turtle tank.It was very easy to install and the suction cups truly holds it in place. I am very happy and satisfied with this product and so are my turtles.

7/20/2021: so after 2 months only, it began to make louder and louder noise. I made sure it wasn't the filter, lid, or just loose suction cup making the buzzing sound. No luck. It is definitely the impeller that makes the buzz or grindy noise. It is loud enough to hear in another room. Updated stars to 1.Original:Very good quiet filter. Works perfectly for small to portable tanks. I wanted this for my sick tank to keep the water as healthy as possible but wound up using it permanently for my red claw crab habitat. Filter is a simple L shape so you can cut new filters from a blank large piece of carbon filter media.

The media could not be loaded. Hands down the best Betta set up I've ever done. For about $ 65 you can literally have the best set up that way outlived my prior betta of 8 yrs old!I have never seen happier bettas in my life. The water is crystal clear and clean 6 months straight you can wash and refuse filters but for $8 you get 6 new ones. I could have stretched them longer but don't chance it.
