Eagle Creek Global Companion Women's Ergonomic Travel Backpack with Laptop Sleeve

I've always been an overpacker! But, I decided to make this backpack my carryon bag on a recent one week trip to Ireland. I cannot say enough great things about the usefulness of this pack. It zips to open like a suitcase. I used packing cubes which were extremely helpful in keeping things organized and more compact. I was able to pack everything I needed in this backpack and in my kavu bag which I used as my personal item. This pack did get somewhat heavy but I was able to tighten the straps that go around your chest and waist which definitely assisted in managing the load. I am over 50 and a bit overweight yet I was able to manage quite nicely. I particularly liked the comfy waist straps on it. It fit in the overhead compartment very well. Although, I do need to mention that it wouldn't fit in our smaller plane (maybe seated 40 to 50 people) overhead compartment and had to be gate checked, even though I had measured it full and it met American Airlines measurements for a carry on. After arriving in Ireland and seeing other tourists with their luggage it was noticeably better to use this pack instead of wheeling our suitcases around on uneven sidewalks and cobblestone pathways in Dublin. I was very satisfied with this backpack.

This pack is AWESOME! Took it to Fiji for two weeks.It was great on: Boats, buses, truck rides, hikes and planes!Comfortable to wear, great harness system.Great organizational pockets on front of bag.Opens like a suite case and easy to organize.Good lap top sleeve.Hip belt is thick but so comfortable.Great zippers for locking or making hard to get in bag if you need extra security.The rain fly was a life saver and really did the job well. Everything stayed dry when it was crazy tropical raining.Fits great in the overhead compartment on a plane!

I took a 10-day trip to Italy with my husband and we both used travel backpacks for the first time. This bag has convenient pockets, lots of features, and a comfortable fit. I'm 5' 2", so the waist straps were a little low on me, but I didn't end up using them during the trip. I loved using packing cubes with this bag, but it is organized so you can skip it if you want. I was so glad we opted for backpacks as I watched other tourists drag their bags down cobble roads and onto trains/planes. I highly recommend this bag! Here are my favorite features:- "Suitcase" style zip open, so you can lay it flat and don't have to dig- Exterior shoe pouch- Attached zip-up rain fly- Quick-access top zipperThe one (minor) thing I didn't like was the fact that the bag stuck up higher than my shoulders. It made it *look* like a travel bag, but the conveniences way outweighed that.

I'm really pleased with my purchase. The bag sits a little higher than I like, as a smaller person (5'3," 135 lbs), but I'm rapidly getting used to it. The inside is roomy and well-organized. The strap material is a little rough. I would have liked some kind of softer lining for when I go sleeveless, but the material itself is good quality and looks like it will last a good long time. The straps are easily adjustable and I love how wide and comfortable the hip belt is.The fold-flat section is nicely laid out for use as an overnight or short trip bag. I also love having a safe, dedicated laptop section big enough for my 17" laptop! The attached rain cover is very convenient. My one complaint is that it lists a whistle as a feature, and I did not get one. I don't need it, but it was on the list of features!

Wow! I loved this backback!! Spent ten days in France, including all over Paris and in the Paris metro (notorious for pickpockets). We bought a few small combination padlocks for luggage and added them to this backpack, to lock up all of the zipper compartments. I felt totally safe with it, everywhere we went. IT IS SO COMFORTABLE! I loved it! I am 5’7” and 225 lbs, waist of about 43”. The waist straps fit me easily, with a few inches to spare. That said, it also could be shortened to easily fit my husband, 5’9” and 150 lbs. It holds a ton of stuff without every feeling heavy. Nice dual drink holders on each side. Built-in rain protection cover, though it’s rain resistant of itself anyway. We bought the Concord color. It’s really nice without being totally feminine. I just can’t say enough good things about this backpack. It was great!

I fit enough cold weather clothes for 10 days abroad plus sneakers. Clamshell design is superior to other styles. Fit very securely and distributed the weight on my hips & back very well. For reference I am 5’7, 130lbs. I recommend using packing cubes to maximize the space. Lastly, it fit well in the overhead space in budget euro airlines line Ryan Air.

Excited to use this on my trip this summer. Great quality bag and I love that it lays out flat like a suitcase when unzipped.

I took this pack on a 16 day trek throughtout Thailand where we were on the move quite a lot. I wanted to travel carry-on only and needed something big enough to hold everything, but still comfortable enough to wear for extended periods of time. The Global Companion did the trick! Loved the clamshell design; packed clothes for the first week on one side and the 2nd week on the other. The top and front compartments are great for smaller items you need to find quickly: toothbrush, sunscreen, etc. Packed a flashlight and water bottle into the side compartments, used the expandable pouch on the front to store my raincoat and the clips were great for attaching light gear like a ball cap in case I needed it. Lots of great little pouches and compartments for phone cords. I didn't bring a laptop but did use that compartment to store my travel documents: copies of my travel itinerary, insurance certificates, passport. It kept them safe and wrinkle free for the entire trip. Definitely a good investment and I'm sure I will use it again and again!

After purchasing the smaller, 40-liter-sized version of this hybrid suitcase / backpack, I decided to add this to my luggage "wardrobe." This backpack offers the perfect, back-friendly ergonomic design of a well-designed backpack (this model designed for a woman's body) together with features borrowed from more mainstream "roller suitcases" -- e.g., the zippered interior compartments and ability to zip this open like a regular roller suitcase means your nice clothing isn't all going to get stuffed willy nilly into one big interior backpack compartment. So these packs will lend themselves ideally to both "outdoor" and "biz" travel (especially with all of the pockets and features to keep laptops and other equipment separate). Above and beyond this being a great product with a great design -- the amazon seller (based out of the UK) is also one that I will continue to shop with in the future. They've offered excellent service, fast delivery and insightful and quick feedback on questions I've sent them on the two purchases I've made with them so far.

So comfortable and really distributes the weight of this when its packed full in a very comfortable way. Small conveniences like the little change purse on one of the hip straps, easily accessible areas to slide a phone/tablet in and out are really nice. You cant stow away the hip straps but i dint find that to be a problem at all because youre always using them.I planned to buy a travel backpack larger then this but didnt based off of reviews of what others had said. I am 5’5” and fairly strong, but would not recommend buying a backpack larger then this unless you are very tall! This is a perfect size. Any bigger would honestly be too strenuous on your back long term.Also- rain resistant cover is great. Kept my almost comppetely dry in heavy rain.

Endlich ein Rucksack der allen meinen Ansprüchen gerecht wird! Die extra Passform für Frauen sowie die von vorne zugänglichen kleinen Extrafächer für Powerbank, Ladekabel und Kopfhörer sowie ein leicht zugängliches Dokumentenfach am Rücken sind ideal für Handgepäck reisen. Man kann ihn ganz normal wie einen Koffer öffnen und packen. Das Schuhfach habe ich als Wäschefach verwendet, welches bei steigender Reisezeit passend mit vergrößert. Auf YouTube gibt es dazu ein hilfreiches Produktvideo.

I originally planned to buy this bag directly from Eagle Creek in the US — but shipping & customs made that option too pricey. Was delighted to find a seller / distributor here in the EU selling Eagle Creek products on amazon.de. Am super happy with this backpack and have already contacted the seller about purchasing the next larger size up (for longer trips).
