I took a chance on this iShoot Collar and I'm glad I did. Functionality, fit and finish are all excellent. I purchased it to support my 300mm with 1.4 extender on my D7500. I found that if I mount it, what would be considered backwards (foot facing the camera) I get a near perfect 50/50 balance.I also noticed a nice feature that is not in the product images or description. Namely, the bottom of the collar base is not simply flat, it has the two safety screw pins that can prevent the lens from falling from a loosened clamp that is designed to accept them. see images.

I was shooting offhand with a Nikon 300mm PF lens, with a 1.4X teleconverter, and was getting more out-of-focus shots than I was comfortable with. I wanted to couple the lens to a Wimberley monogimbal head. The Ishoot lens collar has a bottom foot that fits the Wimberley perfectly, no adapter plates needed. Mission accomplished in that regard. I wanted to keep things solidly mounted, so I did not verify if, by loosening the collar's adjustment knob, I could rotate the camera/lens combination while still maintaining the vertical stability afforded by the monopod. The monopod is a Feisol CM-1471, quite sturdy, and tall enough to bring the lens to a comfortable viewing level for a 6 footer.

I bought this for mounting a Nikon 70-200mm f/4G. I verified that the dovetail slots fit properly in my Arca-Swiss and Acratech ballhead clamps. The collar grips the lens tightly and allows smooth rotation when loosened. The collar is lined with a flocked or felt-like material, which prevents scratches on the lens barrel. I am a bit concerned that this material might compress with extended use and aging, possibly resulting in slippage. The more expensive tripod collars from Kirk or Really Right Stuff would probably have a more durable low-friction lining material like Delrin. The finish quality is not as impressive as the products from Kirk and RRS. They use CNC machined parts, which are then hard anodized. I suspect that the iShoot parts are castings, with a heavy paint coat. But, for my light usage needs, this collar will be adequate.

In general, seems very well made. For the price, I was expecting something less robust. Fits like a glove, very securely.

This collar is too tight for my Nikon 300 f/4 PF, it does not fit.

Works great

The Nikon 70-200 f/4 zoom does not come with a lens collar tripod mount. The Nikon version is $150, The really nice Really Right Stuff version is $235. I wanted a lens collar mount with an Arca-Swiss mounting foot and this one has that feature AND it was only $33!

This lens collar for the Nikkor 300mm F/4E PF lens is 1/4 the cost of the Nikon collar. But don't be fooled by the price. It is well-made and more importantly, fits well on the lens barrel. You might find it a little tight to rotate from landscape to portrait orientation, but with more iterations it loosens up while still keeping a tight grip on the lens. And the final advantage? The foot is Arca-Swiss compatible, unlike the Nikon collar. When will Nikon wake up and make all their tripod feet Arca-Swiss compatible?

Acheté pour un 70-200 f4, s'installe très simplement et contrairement à ce qui est écrit dans un autre avis la bague est bien solidaire de l'objectif une fois fixée et ne tourne absolument pas.

Fits well. Great for when you need to put lens on tripod.
