Is there a huge difference between these and your normal nrr 31 buds?

The outer ear piece is moldable to your ear. They fit perfectly and I wear them somedays for 5-6 hours when I’m range training. I’ve tried many different brands and styles. These are the ones I choose to continue to use.

Are these good for motorcycle riding ?

I use a set of the High Fidelity ones on my motorcycle even with a full face helmet. The work well because I can still hear what going on around me..

Are these comfortable for extended wear?

Jeff, I bought several varying g pairs of acoustic noise reducing ear protection pairs to figure out what would work best for my longer wearing occassions!! These, heat up and mold to your ear fairly nice enough...however, they are not comfortable for me longer than 1 hr. I found Decibal Armour are awesome for my needs! I own 3 sets!

Can I take out the outer plug and put an ear bud in it to use them as in ear monitors? also, going that far in, will the rubber piece get stuck?

Sure, if you want to get the pieces stuck in your ear canal. If not, I don't recommend it.
