Worked great. Super easy replacement, standard size. Nice smooth open close with just the right pressure to keep closed. It’s the little wins and this is one of them!

I purchased this to replace a ball catch in a closet door. I didn't need the strike plate, but I imagine it would be easy to install. I just had to pull the old ball catch out and install this one by dropping it into place. Works perfectly and no more worries about not being able to keep the door latched.

We installed this in our trailer, for the bathroom door. Our door opened to a counter top and was installed at such a bad position, that it would hit the edge of the counter top and push the doorknob above the counter and get stuck. With the 2 minute install, this Drive-in Ball Catch is strong, and holds even while driving down the road, keeping the bathroom door closed securely at all times. Not to mention, that in a small trailer every inch of space is valuable so now the door opens and closed cleanly and give 3 more inches of open doorway clearance. Highly recommend.

If you already have these on your doors installation is as simple as lifting the old one out & putting the new one in. If this is a new installation you'll have to drill a hole in the top of the door for it, that's it. Anybody can do it if you have an electric drill.I gave it four stars instead of 5v because I seem to have to keep replacing them. Not too bad. I have 8 of them & this is my 3rd purchase in 15 years (I've replaced 6 so far & now need 1 more)The problem is that the ball wears out over time, eventually the door becomes very difficult to open & close, and then withing a few months the ball flies out like a BB, bouncing off the ceiling! LOL It was very funny the first time it happened. Now, I just replace them before they get that worn.

easy install, works great, nice tight fit keeps door shut firmly.

If you need one that is a tap-in barrel fit vs. a screw in plate (talking about the ball catch, not the plate to "receive" the ball) then this is the model for you. The orange box store had one that required me to chisel out an area to make the plate / ball catch assembly flush with the top of the door. Wish I would have looked on Amazon first. If you've done a repair / replacement on one of these ball catches, this should make more sense.

This is what I needed. Stopped in Home Depot and Lowes and these young people they hire now has 0 clue. I got pissed off and went to Amazon and there it is. Delivered to my home for me to plug and play. Perfect. I ordered (2) just to have a spare.

I have this exact ball catch in my house.. it broke and was so easy to replace!

Works so much better than the original ever did. It was also easy to install. Happy.
