Is the tang self or welded. How long is actual tang, full

It's not full tang, it's partial. the blade is 4.8 inches long and it is not welded.

Can this be carried horizontaly on a belt?

It can be carried on your belt with no problems. I do it all the time. I wear it off my right hand side and can get it out of the scabbard easily and it's ready to use.

Far as I know, some good ole boys just east of the river. USA

Is this real damascus or did a computer put that pattern on it? seems silly but so many on amazon advertise fake damascus

It is made of actual Damascus steel and comes with a certificate of authenticity. It's handmade by folding multiple iron billets into a blade that's extremely hard and flexible while maintaining a sharp edge.
