Wrong Spark Plug!
Ultimately, I got my weed eater running well for the most part but I had to work for it! After the product arrived a day late (wouldn't be a problem if I would plan ahead a little better) I installed the carb, fuel lines, filters and spark plug. It took a few pulls to get it started and it idled fairly well but would die as soon as I hit the accelerator. I chased my tail trying to adjust the carb without the splined adjustment tool by taking the airbox off and using a terminal connector to turn the adjustment screws. After a bit of reading, I found a thread that matched the symptoms I was seeing that was due to a cross referenced spark plug that was non-resistive. I put the old plug in and it accellerated significantly better and after purchasing a splined plug tool, I was able to tune the carb and get it preforming pretty well. Takeaways:- Make sure the plug is a resister type plug- Tune the carb with the air box on (requires the splined tool on the HUSQVARNA 128CD) and the line at full extension (heaviest load)- Documentation and videos I've seen call for gently seating the H&L jets and then backing off 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 turns as a "jumping off point" however, I found my sweet spot by dialing it back to almost completely seated. Seems odd but it runs pretty good nowHope this helps!
