What's the difference between the Q2 and the Q2pro?

CK is wrong when he says this model does not use powerline tech for some of it's backhaul - it does. I also don't know what the pro does but after using this older model for over a year I can say that it's performance is superb and it is astonishing to see it at this price. We've just had FTTP installed and the TP-Link router recommended by Aquiss might have impressive sounding features such as triangulating your location using its 4 antenna and then 'beam focusing' an especially powerful signal to you but that does not stop it being a big disappointment after life with Huawei's Mesh system.
We have been feeding that with Three LTE mobile data and when it's in the mood this is exceptionally good with unlimited data at up to 70/80 Mbps for £12 pm. The problem with a mobile data solution in your house is that it comes with a mind of its own which uses no logic that you can determine and the only part of it's behaviour you can predict is that everything it does always appears as a series of random events. To be fair, it has never let us down completely but such is the nature of my wife's work from home that we have to keep an unused and very reliably very slow adsl connection as a backup.

I have just now ordered another Q2 system meaning we will have 6 units of these units dotted around the house providing what I hope will be reliable FTTP connections just about anywhere together with 6 x 2 ethernet LAN ports The security camera that monitors the bird table will no longer have to be set to 'low quality' because of variable data speeds that fluctuate wildly (all the main mobile carriers that I tested seemed to suffer very badly from high latency figures - I'm no expert but have read this can lead to increased packet loss which slows eveyrthing)

I've also just ordered a Huawei router which will accept a FTTP connection so the two day old Tp-link model that our supplier recommended is going back to Amazon. I rarely return stuff but feel strongly that the performance does not live up to what the Amazon listing and it's box promised.  The new Huawei one is Wifi 6 not 5, has a faster chipset, both 2.4 and 5Hhz signals are better (shame that I will be turning the wifi off) and is exactly half the price. Trump really has done retail consumers a big favour by his attacks - this may turn out to be only in the short term though as the domestic retail market in China might not produce enough revenue to continue their vast spending on R&D and the recruitment of the most gifted computer graduates from the best Universities in China. It is these two factors together with a handful of very talented and very expensive expats on 3 or 6 month contracts that make their hardware so much better than the competition*. It also enabled them to respond to the veiled threat that Android may not always remain as freely available to Chinese companies as it has always been by developing their own equivalent system. (This also fixed several problems that had become hard-baked into Android). A huge Trump own goal imo.
* Last year I spent two weeks testing two product areas - a personal mifi device and a top end LTE modem/router. I got Huawei's two best models and two each from Tp-Link, Netgear & Linksys. I took these out in the car with an inverter so I could use various masts and tried to be as methodical as possible. Using data sims from Three, EE & Vodaphone performance wise it did not take long at all because in every area Huawei was better. Things were less clear cut with Ergonomics & Design where I felt Netgear excelled.
