Standard Motor Products S799 Pigtail/Socket

Used this pigtail-socket and a new rear-wheel speed sensor (on top of rear differential) on 2005 Jeep Liberty when speedometer stopped working. For no fault of the new parts, it didn't fix my speedometer. The problem ended up being underneath the rear seat carpeting. Simply disconnecting and reconnecting the cable bundle connector underneath the rear seat carpeting (left side) fixed the issue. Regarding this part, this connector is easier to install than equivalent part from Jeep dealership and unlike the dealership part, this comes assembled ready to splice/connect to Jeep wiring. This Standard Motor Products part slips and clicks onto the sensor and the release allows actually releasing the connector to remove it from the sensor. Dealership part uses overly-difficult release catch requiring you to push your thumb tip so hard it hurts to release the connector. Even though this part didn't fix my problem, it's nice to have the wires properly connected and now I can release the connector as well. I used a couple small heat-shrink tubes on each wire, twisted and soldered the pigtails to the existing wires coming from the front of the Jeep Liberty.

Look it's a pigtail and a socket in one. And it has a great price. How can one go wrong?
