GREAT drive. exactly as advertised, for good or ill.
Small and useful!pros:standard usb 2/3 connector + usb c connector.very versatileREAD SPEEDOS installs from this drive are wicked fastsmall: i have this attached to a lanyard and it is very small and light. great addition to my bag of toolsaccurate specifications: read/write is dead on as advertised. i used this in a heavy read environment and it works GREAT. i wish more companies truthfully advertised a device's capabilities. i know where to NOT use the drive.future proof and legacy happy: usb C will likely dominate all future devices. small and fast.cons:WRITE SPEED: good grief, it is exactly as advertised. SLOW. i have generic usb 2 drives with better write speeds. kudos for accurate specifications and no stars docked. see abovedon't use this for lots of writes.i pull the usb C cover everytime i remove the drive. once inserted into a standard usb 2/3 port, it is nearly impossible to remove without pulling the cover for the usb c port. seems pretty sturdy, but i have to push it back down after i pull it out. i tried removing the cover, but there is even less material to grab from the usb c port alone.other:i have 2 already. i will buy more as needed for boot disks and other heavy read conditions. this drive has no peer for OS installs at this price. 100+mb/s reads for such a cheap price.

... these a few months ago and have been very happy. Today
I bought 2 of these a few months ago and have been very happy. Today, I came back to order 2 more and decided to leave a review while I'm at it.These are very inexpensive, very reliable, and, as other reviewers have mentioned, very *honest*. The write performance is not great, but they don't try to lie to you about it. But for the price they're unbeatable, and they work equally well with USB-C on my MacBook and USB-A 3 on my desktop PC. They are VERY small which can be both good and bad: they're easy to store, but also easy to lose.My only real complaint is that there's no good way to label them. They're so small that there's no real place to put a label, and since the cover is clear it's not easy to write on either. For the first two, I used a black marker to mark the inside of the plastic so I can tell the difference, but I really have no idea what I'm going to do for the next 2.

Good for USB-c and regular USB needs
Used this for loading the OS on systems and seems to work great. The 8GB dual DVD is now getting too small for some full distros and BD might cost too much for temp usage so 16 or 32GB is just about right. I'm not sure how many times I can make this a boot drive but have used it several times fixing some computers. ALSO since many new computers don't have a CD/DVD drive, you'll need something like this to reload a computer if you have to replace the drive. I haven't tried it on the Mac mini yet but I think it should work. I'll update if it doesn't work. YET I will say I try to avoid the SanDisk choices even though they can be cheaper and some software applications specifically state you shouldn't use SanDisk. I'm not sure what the exact reason why. But this is one of my first Kensington memory sticks as I've had to switch away from Lexar and I couldn't find something like this made by Samsung. Also this seemed to write with some good speed.

USB-C side is uselessly slow. Do not buy for use on Macs.
I use this as a way of moving files around between machines. When plugged into my Mac via USB-C, the computer SPODs for an extended period of time. A few minutes ago, it took me over three minutes to copy two files totaling 60 *kilobytes* to the drive, and more than a minute to copy those two files back off of the drive onto another machine.I'm not getting any errors at all; it is just breathtakingly slow — by far the slowest device I have ever encountered. It makes 3.5" floppy disks and circa 2000 USB flash drives seem lightning fast by comparison. It also gets hot as heck. It is physically painful to unplug it, because after even one or two minutes of use, the metal case is scalding to the touch. All of these problems occur only on the USB-C side. The USB 3.1 side works perfectly.IMO, this product isn't worth buying unless you're only going to be using the legacy USB connector.
