I'm pleasantly surprised at how well it works!
Had this for more than 5 months now in a very very green pond. It has slowly cleaned the water and has worked flawlessly so far. I initially cleaned it every week, now I'm cleaning it about once a month.FOUR MONTHS LATER: my pond is now pretty clear considering I hadn't cleaned the water for a couple of years before I purchased this. Approx. 15 sizeable gold fish and lots of plants and snails continue to be happy.I was actually sent (by mistake) the PT1818 PowerClear Multi Filter 1500, which I use in a 6X6X4deep pond. I'm now very appreciative for the extra filtration of this larger model. It's still necessary to clean once a month.

Love this filter
I like the look and ease of access for maintenance and cleaning. When I set the pump up the UV bulb was not working. The seller, Webb’s water Gardens, was excellent in providing a replacement bulb quickly. The pump, filter and UV lamp are all working as intended. My fish are happy

Not practical. Over stated cleaning rating.
The unit would not keep a 750 gallon pond clean.Pain in the butt to have to yank the system out of water to clean the filters. The idea of a self-contained filter / UV / fountain unit is great, but not practical at all. As the filter gets dirty, the flow to the fountain is reduced. And it can be a matter of a day. I would not recommended for any size of a pond.

It works well, and the pond water was very ...
It works well, and the pond water was very clear after a few days of running the filter. However, the fountain parts are fragile and broke at the joint connecting it to the pump during one of the cleaning sessions recently. I don't think it is fixable.

Works really well to clear up water
Easy to setup and is working very well. Took only 2 days to totally clear up my 1000 gallon pond and I really like the small UV indicator light on top of the filter...very easy to see and ensure UV system is working. Highly recommend this pump. Note: I’m only using the water feature part of the pump, I’m not using the waterfall outlet.Update: UV bulb burned out after 2 months.

Adjustable fountain stem
Excellent filter and fountain. The best part of this fountain is that you can adjust the fountain stem without taking the entire filter out of the pond.

Very easy to set up-All in One
Just purchased and set up. Very easy to set up. Instructions however are brief and could be improved upon. I like the "all in one concept" but for the price it should be a sturdier design.I don't see the UV light as being lit so I'm uncertain the UV light is working even though everything else is. I can't find anything on-line or in the provided materials addressing how bright it's supposed to be. I cannot see it lit in daylight. Seems it should work easily "out of the box" and mine doesn't seem to be. Disappointed with the quality but it works well~so far.UPDATE: 7/8/18 - The UV Light WASN'T working, as I suspected, so I took it back to the pond place I purchased it from and they replaced. the UV bulbs are VERY DELICATE and don't take movement and shipping well so you may wish to consider before you mail order. However, the pump is still working some 2 years later.I don't like the design of the plastic fountain cap piece which ALWAYS clogs with algae and you have to try to clean with a toothbrush constantly. Once it clogs it will spray water through the remaining holes everywhere (outside your pond thus draining it) etc. I'd remove it and not use it at all.I have a 250 gallon stock tank with plants and fish and have to clean the filters several times a week. While it says it's good for a 500 gallon pond I think it's pushing it's limits as it is. You shouldn't have to clean it but once a week. Several times I've found it clogged and floating in the pond even though I clean it at least once a week.Overall though this is a good beginner system but I intend upon upgrading in the fall. Also, it's still going in July 2018 so I guess the reliability is worth the price.
