Great Zune HD Dock
Great dock for Zune HD. The Zune HD being new has few speaker options; fotunately this is a great product.PROS:-great full sound-compact in size (portable, see battery)-claims to run 24 hours on battery (have not tested this)-small remote with all common features you need on large round buttons-good style (on [...] an alternative, Kicker brand, look like boomboxes, not appropriate for elegant/office spaces)CONS:-as with any portable/desktop system is intended for use in one room and not powerful enough to rock the neighbor's house

The review I didn't want to give
So I've owned this little Zune player for a few months now. At first, I loved it (not that I had any choice with the limited options out there, but hey... it looked like an iPod dock). The sound, for my office, is more than enough. I actually have to turn it down because the little player does pack a punch. It's not bad looking, and has an Aux option and FM, and a remote control, which is great to pause the music while I receive a phone call. I don't know if this will fulfill your home needs. You are probably better off using the Aux port on your stereo.Anyway, everything was fine for the first few months until recently. For some reason, my player started making hissing sounds. You know, the kind of sounds that speakers make when you turn the volume way up but are not playing anything? The sound of electricity? Well, I unplugged and plugged it back again, I changed the input, but nothing. I think my player is on its last legs. Considering buying a second one or switching to another company, if anybody else makes Zune docks.UPDATE: I found the solution to the hissing sound. Turn the player on and then hold on the power button until it resets. You will know when it resets because the volume will reset to 20. After reseting it, perfect sound once more. Because of this, I raised my rating by one star.

Dissatisfied with described functionality
I had to return the Altec Lansing inMotion Speaker Dock with FM Radio for Zune because it did not support the Zune my grandson had. The documentation said it supported all Zunes and the stick-on label on the package said it supported all Zunes (under the label there were pictures of Zunes that were supported and ours was NOT there). Why was a misleading label put on the product?. When it did not work with his Zune HD, we investigated it on Altec website and it stated that the product DID NOT SUPPORT the Zune we had. We are returning it and my grandson was obviously very upset and disappointed that his Chritmas present fron us did not work. I don't understand why a company would advertise something that a product can't do. This will be tha last Altec product we purchase.

The sound quality is better than expected. I purchased this to replace the Altec Lansing M604.The unit I purchased stopped working when plugged in after a month. it did work with batteries. I sent it back to Altec Lansing and they replaced it. It worked for another 6-7 months and then the same problem happened again.

Avoid this disapointment
What a complete letdown. The sound is fine, comparable to a set of computer speakers, and the build quality seems very decent, but the lack of features and poor engineering make this Zune dock something to be avoided at any price.First, while Altec Lansing does include three different adapters for docking the Zune into the unit, none of them actually fit a 120G Zune. The Zune wiggles and flops around and does not usually seat properly onto the dock which causes the Zune to have no sound, or not charge. There's no form fitting slot or anything for the Zune to click into (as with the USB interface cable)... the Zune just kind of leans back on the speakers and is held into the dock only by gravity.Second, the remote can't do anything but volume, skip to the next song, go back to the beginning of the song, or pause the Zune. Forget switching between music and video, switching play lists, or searching for a different artist because the remote does not perform any of those functions. You can still use the buttons on the Zune to perform these functions, but then, why have a remote? Also, my remote may have simply been shipped with a weak battery but it only works from a few feet away and then only about half the time.Third, no alarm clock?! Once I got the unit I went back and read the add again, and true enough it does not say there will be a clock, let alone an alarm clock. However it does boast about 24 hour battery back up, which I consider very misleading. To me, this leads one to believe the 24 hour battery back up is for a clock.Lastly, when you plug the Zune into the dock it usually does not respond to the dock unless you play with the dock's on/off button a few times. There may be some order you need to perform the operations in, but I have yet to decipher it, and the very short instruction booklet does not mention it.

inMotion inYour House!
This is a great item! Really good stereo separation, and ease of use. The volume is the reason why I gave it 4 stars under the sound option, just not quite loud enough for anything exciting. But this works great in the office and in the kitchen.

Worth the money
My daughter has been trying to find a dock for her ZUNE (she refuses to go APPLE) and this product is perfect. It is multi-voltage and charges her ZUNE well. She received it for her birthday and only arrived in 10 days and we are stationed in Europe for the U.S. Air Force.

Good Product
Purchased this for my wife so she could listen to music in the kitchen while cooking or cleaning. It works great with her Zune and produces great sound. It comes with a little remote but I dont think my wife has ever used it. It can also tune into the radio, but so can the zune. So again I dont think she has ever used that feature either. Overall I would say its a good product and she get alot of use out of it. I would recommend it to someone else. I would just like to see its price go down alittle bit.
