Replacement for very loved but damaged unit..
Its not the best of build quality but it works for small projects perfectly.. The battery and transistor testers are extremely handy. This purchase was for this specific meter, due to another that failed due to user error (oops), that was/is the most useful meter for small projects I have ever owned.Note: Emphasis on 'small' projects.

Small, portable, east to use
This little beauty is priceless! It is small (size of a wallet), can pop it in my pocket, and it is SO easy to use. Instructions are very clear. I use it to check the volts in my batteries I use with my solar panels. I have a charger attached to the panels and battery but I wanted to see if the charger was accurate and this little baby lets me check volts in mere seconds. Had trouble with my car and used it to check my car battery too! Our -55 degrees put quite a strain on my car battery and so I hooked it up to a recharger and could tell when the battery was fully charged. This is a must have for any "tinkerer". Oh yes, and I'm a female to boot.

JOB DONE
Low price, and it works. Comes with positive and negative probes. The display is clear. No problems. What did I need it for? The back-light bulbs behind my stereo tuner's LCD display burnt out. The stereo is made in China, and is a Garrard from the, now defunct, Service Merchandise. Bought it in 1997 for around $70. The bad bulbs were strange, and I couldn't find anything like them on the Internet. There were two of them in series.Checked the voltage, and discovered that the total was about 14 volts. Eventually, I found what I needed on websites for model trains and buildings.

Probe Durability
I bought a second one whaen the probes failed. The first failure was the connector at the meter end of the probe wires. It's not very replaceable, so I bought another whole unit. After a year of very light use, the black wire pulled out of the black probe. About 1/4" of copper wire was bare, but there did not appear to be any way to reinsert the wire and expect it to work. I have soldered the bare wire to the probe tip, but I doubt that it will be satisfacory. When that fails I will tin the bare wire and call that a probe, Meanwhile, the meter does its job very well --- if you can get a connection with the probes.

Miracle trouble finder
This is a wonderful product that does what is supposed to do and is cheap. With cheaping an everything, it cost me about $11 dolars and it helped me to find what was the problem with my dryer. my dryer was not creating any hot air and wasnt rotating . with this miracle and affordable product I could find out that the problem was the heating element and the thermal fuse. I ordered the parts from the amazon site and I received everything in 2-3 days. Now I can enjoy my warm and dry clothes again. Thanks to this volt Meter.

surprisingly good performance from a "disposable" meter.
I bought one of these cheapie meters in 1988 to use on construction and mine sites figuring that if it got lost or damaged it wouldn't be any big deal. Well, the damned things still works perfectly so I recently bought a couple more for my crew. Maybe it's not as accurate or fancy as a Fluke or Simpson but for trouble shooting and field calibrating industrial instruments out doors in all kinds of weather, it's good enough.

Piece of junk - Not working
At first it was working for a few minutes when I was testing it by measuringthe voltage of a 1.5 V battery. Then when I tried to measure the currentof a 12V battery pack, It did not work. Did I just burn out the meter?what the hell? It just keep reading -0. I followed the instruction step by step.If this thing is so easily burned out, it's not worth it. Don't waste your money.Buy a more expensive one.

Delivered on time in good conditon.
This product has a functionality which is the measure of Volt-Ampere of a battery and that works perfectly. No other multimeter sold in India, as far as my knowledge is concerned, has this functionality. In spite of owning a multimeter already (some other quality brand without having this feature), I went for purchase of this product exclusively for this functionality. However this product lacks quality and is a cheaper one.
