Great screen and information
While the product is great, the setup and usage instructions are somewhat contradictory and lacking basic steps, that may have been simply taken for granted as no brainers. For example, the instructions say to only turn the device on outside, with a clear view of the sky, never inside! While this is necessary during play, it's also necessary to turn the device on inside whenever you connect it to the computer or wish to use WiFi for syncing. Turning the device on indoors is never mentioned in the instructions. Once you realize that you have to turn it on AND press the SYNC button to put it in sync MODE... it's all fairly intuitive. The stats tracking is also a great feature that I never thought I'd use, but now find very useful!

Nothing compares!
This is the best technology on the golf course. So easy to use and obtain the correct yardages regardless of which fairway you guy find yourself on. Played 2 rounds at different courses and it will lower your handicap and makes for and enjoyable round of golf.

Great Product at a Great Price
This is a great product, and it does everything it claims it will do. I especially like the ability to add my clubs to the virtual golf bag. I religiously track my carry distance with a launch monitor at the driving range. This allows me to know through my Sky Caddie what club I should use from where I am on the course. It also does many other useful things, so if you want one, I suggest you read about what it can do online.

Skycaddie SX400 - The good and the bad.
I replaced my broken Garmin G6 with the Skycaddie SX400 with a case and charger. I like the size of the screen and the quality of the images. The GPS distances seem to be accurate and the battery life appears to be better than my Garmin. Uploading the scorecard via WIFI is really nice too. There's a lot of information you can have on the screen and there are different modes so there's plenty of data if you need it. The real power (if you want to analyze it) is on the Skygolf 360 site. If you keep track of your shots, the website shows every shot, where it went and the distance, plus the number of putts. So you can see where you're doing great and also where you need work. I spent some time understanding the options and set up the unit to my liking. However - - There are many things I don't particularly care for. For instance - - You first need to go into the "settings" menu to set everything up even the time zone (Shouldn't a GPS figure that out on it's own?) When getting ready to play you need to select a course where the Garmin would find the one you're on. The unit is rather large, thick and heavy so it's a little bulky in your pocket. It defaults to the black tees so you have to change that before starting your round. There's other options that need to be set up too in the "round options" menu. The scorecard only keeps one score so you can't enter your playing partners info. And you have to pay a minimum of $29.95/yr for course updates and to use SkyGolf360 website. The case is so big I can't fit it in my golf bag and the portable charger doesn't come with the cable to charge the SX400. Bottom line - - The Garmin was a little simpler but the Skycaddie has many more features.

Nice of hardware, if you want to spend the money. Not happy with required subscription
Great product and one year of free access to all the features. Maybe too distracting and will slow down play if you start entering all the info that the unit can take to build a profile of your game. I paid way too much attention to the unit and got distracted. I returned the unit. After one year need to purchase $60 a year subscription. I think if you download an IOS or Android based golf GPS app for the phone for free and buy a $50 a year subscription to get the same features of this unit you save the almost $500 this unit costs. Plus you you don’t have to worry about two expensive (phone and Sky Caddie) items getting lost. I have found two older model Sky Caddies at my club and have returned them, I feel for the guys and it’s the right thing to do. Personal choice if you want to splurge on this unit.

It takes time to get used to using it.
The unit is does not recognize when you stop for a shot so if you forget to mark the spot it won't remind you.

Sky Caddy
I have used sky caddy products for years, this is my third GPS, upgraded to the SX550. There are other GPS products available but I prefer, the sky caddy because of the screen size, resolution, and ability to use the touch screen to measure distances to hazards and trouble spots.
