Simple and Easy - From and Electrician!
Be it known that I write this as a licensed electrician and an electrical engineer from Penn State. I really wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered these but they came quickly and as advertised. I guess I never realized how small they are! LOL I put up two 12VAC transformers one each in different locations. Since the wire runs were rather short (about 60 ft) and I was only putting 5, 3W fixtures on each I used 16/2 cord. After digging little trenches alongside the path I laid out the wire beside the little trench. I put a box containing a light where I wanted each to go and started at the furthest light in the line from the transformer. Note that this is a LOW VOLTAGE application and does not follow the same standards as regular household voltage applications would in the National Electric Code, NFPA-70. Also, being that I live in Florida and these connectors would likely see a rather wet and corrosive atmosphere, I grabbed one of my squeeze-tubes of electrical anti-oxidant grease. You can get this at just about any hardware store. It will coat the connections and bare conductors preventing premature corrosion and failure. These are not designed to be water-tight nor do they have to be. Starting at the furthest light position, I opened the box and put the light together while installing the LED bulb I ordered separately. I split the two conductors apart at the end of the tail and stripped about 1/2" of insulation off of each. I took both ends off of two connectors and squeezed in some anti-oxidant grease so that the ends were full. I carefully split the 16/2 line and installed the taps (connections) on the main line. Some grease squeezed out (very little) telling me the pin was coated as it pierced the insulation and made a seal around it. I slid the little ferrule type end over the stripped wire and slightly twisted the bare conductors before sticking it into the connector until the insulation butted up against the post inside. The wires went right through the grease between the center post and the shell of the connector. Holding it in place I slid the threaded ferrule down the wire and screwed it tightly into the connector. Voila! Done. Some grease squeezed out that end too but very little. I wiped my fingers on a rag and continued with the next, and the next, and the next, and so on. The little ferrule presses the bare conductors against the metal center post and makes the connection. It does not, nor is it designed to, hold the insulation. I buried the 16/2, connectors, and remaining tail wire from each light in the little trench as I went along. When I finished and cleaned up I went inside for dinner. It got dark and the photoeye turned the lights on. Perfect! All of them worked without a hitch. No issues. No problems. Good value.

Easy Peasy
I wish they had these connectors when I did the lights years ago. These are simple to use and quick. Just split the wire down the middle like the directions say. It took a little more time since we used these on 28 year old low voltage line in the ground, but it still worked great. If your wire is hard/old like ours was, just take your time with a utility knife when separating the wires. I used the knife and a piece of metal on the backside of the wire so I could use the metal as a "backstop" for the knife. Just cut in a few places in the middle, then I took a large flat bladed screwdriver and used that to split the wire, while still using the metal "backstop". Once you split the wire, the connectors are a snap to install. We installed about 30 lights (2 connectors each). They are quality. I pulled on the wire fairly hard and no blinking of the lights/loose connections existed. One thing you have to pay attention to is making sure you don't "cross thread" the fitting when you attach it to the wire. Just make sure you put the cap on straight as you tighten the connectors. On a couple of them, I screwed them on a little crooked, and as I got it almost tight, it just popped off and wouldn't hold. Unfortunately, once you do that, the connector is toast. Luckily I learned that on the first couple of connectors. So, operator/installer error on my part. They are awesome connectors!

Easy solution
Works well . May have to heat the old wires if they are hard . When you put the spotlight wires in curl them like you were wrapping them on a screw then screw the top in .

a good deal for the $$
this connector is overly simple but you'll need to use some reverse logic when installing. what worked for me was tightly screwing the part with the contactor to the (power source) wire first; lastly, you insert about 1/8" - 1/4" of bare wire that originates from the light and tighten - all by hand. the snug fit keeps the wire in place and maintains the connection. don't be tempted to use more wire as it may present fitment issues. mine are low voltatge (12vac) leds and it's a dream. they are sturdy and seemingly durable. i've had mine in use for a few weeks now and am slowly replacing the existing lights' stock hardware with these connectors. these seem to "bite" better than the stock ones, although those have been in use for well over a decade now. when repositioning the light, the stock connectors can get loose. the sunvie design should hold up better but if not, it's a piece o' cake to put on a new one. . . . so yeah, i indeed recommend.

Great, secure connection
Itโs a great fixture. Iโve tried different configurations and brands before, but the connections would eventually become loose. These connectors are much more secure and hold the connections firmly in place. Very happy with the quality and performance!

Easy connections
The connectors are easy to use. It punctures the plastic insulation with no problems and keeps the wires from the light fixture tightly connected.

Well made
I'm giving these a 5 because there isn't a 4.5. Very good product and work as advertised except for one small caveat. On 12ga cable I had to shave a bit of the insulation down so that the middle part would fasten to the cable end. Instructions say to soften the cable with a butane lighter, but I just didnt trust the insulation not the catch fire, nor do I have a heat gun, nor do I smoke (so no lighter at hand lol). I would definitely recommend.mend these. I may get another package as I have some lights with the old twist on compression connectors that are slowly failing.

Works well
Do a good job but 4mm2 wire is right on the limit for these
