Do the spikes face up or in the ground? If they face up my dog will just chew through them

Spikes need to face up...to deter cats, foxes etc to cross over straps. Spray strong detmold solution occassional to stop dog chewing :-)

Can they go on fence posts as my cats have scratched my posts and needed sanded down

I don't see why not I put some along the top of my fence with 'no more nails' glue to keep the neighborhood cats outta my garden.

Yes I would say so - as long as they are secured to the wall as they will just slide off. I have found them very effect against cats. One jumped on mine and never did it again!

Will this stop animals (foxes) jumping over fence if fixed on top of fence panel

I do not think so. It is made to cause no harm to animals but stop them from digging the ground directly underneath, therefore they are only good for small area/s. I bought these but my area was much too big for two boxes so have laid chain-link fencing (mesh) over the area instead and this successfully prevents digging.
