Perfect EDC, Collector, hard use etc.
I was on the fence about the Damascus but I know for a Fact that different or limited Production Spydies become valuable collector Items but I bought this for EDC and also the Price. It’s perfectly balanced in hand and extremely comfortable and my first Endura. The Knife came Razor sharp with a bit of Oil on the Blade which I appreciate very much and it’s a back Lock so it’s a bit stiff to open at first but will absolutely break in. I added the Snake Knot Lanyard and GITD Spider that is insanely bright after its been charged by Light that is a must to have and available on the E Boy sight for around 10 bucks for 2. This is a lightweight Knife and very comfortable for all Day carry. The shipping from KJ was fine with no issues but I noticed there were 3 in stock and when I ordered mine they still had 3 in stock lol so an oddity. There are Videos on these that I watched repeatedly before I bought this Damascus version and I’d say this Blade version is harder than the standard VG10 version and I know it’s held an edge fantastic after a lot of use shortly after I received the Knife and just a quick Strop and it’s back to hair popping sharp again. If you’re on the fence get the Damascus, the regular Endura are everywhere and this Blade is 100% an upgrade from the standard VG10 version and will be gone from Knife Joy soon I imagine. You also can upgrade the Scales later if you want but the FRN is a lot lighter and the steel liners make this Knife extremely sturdy and durable.

Great upgrade on the old reliable Spyderco VG-10 Endura
Buetiful Damascus style layering will certainly catch the eye and lend strength to the mid grade VG-10 steel of the regular Spyderco Endura model. I'd say more of a collectable or light duty carry because it's just too pretty to mess up! If you are looking for a Endura for med/heavy use go with one of the CPM super steels or CTS- BD1N if they offer it

Gorgeous knife!
I own several knives from spyderco, but this is my first damascus steel blade. It’s fabulous, I couldn’t be more impressed with the knife. I want one in every size

Perfect In Every Way. The Handle is not blue violet as shown.
I have one other Endura (the green one in ZDP-189. A prefect green for me) and could not pass up this particular blue for the handle so I bought this Knife Joy special addition. The cool clad blade is a bonus. So yes . . . every aspect of the blue handled Knife Joy version is just right :SharpNice pivot action; no play in any direction, drops a bit when I release the lock (did not have to adjust the pivot). The clip is stainless ( no black finish to get scraped up).Smooth in the hand (no flaws in the FRN plastic ) yet the classic Spyderco handle texture is grippy. This blue, IMO, is a perfect color for a modern knife. Can not go wrong with the Endura by Spyderco, it has been around in one version or another for thirty years for a reason.PS : the color is identical to the more recent Spyderco Para 3 with SPY-27 steel. That color they call "Cobalt". This Endura they call the color "Navy Blue". I have both knives; the color is the same. This "Navy Blue" is not as purple as the photo here on Amazon would lead one to believe. The actual color is more true blue with a touch of gray.

EDC of Choice!
This is my third Spyderco EDC and about every 20+ years I put a new one into service as my everyday beater. My first one was a "Worker" model w/partial serration followed by a "Police" model w/full serration that is getting retired after a quarter century. I chose the "Endura" model with "FRN" scales mainly for the "Damascus" blade having wanted one for years now also, the weight difference (BIG) from the heavy full stainless Police! Yes, the blade pivot is very tight and will require break-in time but it's a brand-new tool out of the box. Otherwise, a stunning Spyderco tool/blade sharp as can be, so be careful. I'll get back to you as soon as I reverse the carry clip to the side I'm used to and diddle with it some more. (KnifeJoy also an attitude/appreciation of knives) UPDATE 1: just reversed the carry clip to the other side/other end for right hand carry/draw and adjusted pivot (YouTube Tutorials!!)- ahhhhhh perfecto! Love the lighter weight and grip texture of the FRN scales. UPDATE 2: Put a thumb stud (Emerson add-on) a signet ring and a deep carry clip on this knife and it works awesome. This is my first FRN scaled Spyderco and now prefer it over my solid stainless models for weight/grip/modification adaptions so old skool Spydie guys this is a new dawn of KnifeJoy!
