These are the best around BUT with room for improvement.
I have tried numerous other tracks and been left sorely disappointed. The others either break instantly or offer little grip on ice. These are about the best tracks you can buy but with that said, there is still some room for improvement. The biggest problem I (and my two buddies also own these) have is that the back straps are stitched together FAR TOO LOW. They stitching is so low that it makes it extremely difficult to reach the heal of the boot. Whomever designed these must have based the prototype on sneakers or Converse or some other small, lightweight shoe. The product picture clearly demonstrates these being used with a large boot, as most users do. The placement of the stitching doesn't make any sense. It's quite stupid. SOLUTION: sever the stitches and re-sew at an appropriate height. See photos. It's a pain to have to do this but now that mine are modified, I'm pretty happy about it.NOTE TO MANUFACTURER: adjust the stitching to an appropriate height. Put these on your snow boots. Any boots at all and you will see what I mean. Shocking that they sell like this.In the attached pictures you can see a side-by-side comparison of the "before" (left boot) and "after" (right boot). Also shown is a side-by-side with both tracks modified (one is slightly higher than the other as I am not a professional seamstress. My first attempt at using a sewing machine). Without this modification it is really difficult to get the strap around the heal.

Stabilicers sizing Problem
This review is about the sizing information for Stabilicers provided on the Amazon site and their return policy, NOT about the product itself! The information provided by Amazon only lists the Stabilicers sizing compared to shoe sizes. But shoe size information is based on the size of a foot NOT on the outside dimensions of a shoe! And for a product such as Stabilicers, which fits OVER a shoe or boot, the outside dimensions are the important ones.32 north is the manufacturer. If you go to their website, and look for Stabilicers Maxx, you will ALSO see a column that lists the width and length of the Stabilicers itself. Below is a comparison of the Stabilicers size, and the width and length of each size.XXS........3 ¾" x 10"XS.........4" x 11"S..........4 ½" x 11 ¾"M..........4 5/8" x 12 ¼"LG.........4 ¾" x 13"XLG........5" x 13 ¾"XXLG.......5 1/8" x 14 ¼"I have measured both M and LG, and the dimensions are correct.I wear a size 10 ½ shoe, so I initially ordered an LG, which was much too large. Then I discovered the 32north website, and realized that I needed an M. When you order from Amazon, you have to carefully check to see who is selling it. In the case of my Stabilicers order, it was `fulfilled by Amazon'. The result is you cannot simply exchange an item. You must return it for credit, and then reorder again! For me it too almost 3 weeks from initial order to delivery of the correct size. The moral of this is to always try to check the manufacturer's website for information you may need before ordering from places like Amazon. Incidentally, 32north sells a lot more varieties of Stabilicers than are available through Amazon.

They are perfect for me
I walk 2-3 miles cross country everyday including winter without a hint of slipping on snow or ice. I have mine fastened on Micky Mouse boots and don't take them off to keep the hassle down. The straps hold them on without loosening at all. They are perfect for me.This is new review after using them for 1 year and 8 months. They are great. I just bought my second pair. Let me tell you just how good the STABILicers Maxx Original Heavy Duty Stabilicers Ice Traction Cleat for Snow and Ice - Medium - Traction cleats for Boots and Shoe Ice Cleatsare for me. At age 80 I was walking 3 miles cross country 365 days a year in mud, snow, rain & ice. On average I was falling about 6 times a year and I realized that one of these fall was going to be the one that stopped my life someday. I found these cleats on Amazon that looked really heavy duty. I put them on my micky mouse paratrooper boots and the combination is awesome. I never take the cleats off and I don;'t lace my boots up. I just slip my feet into the boots and walk my three miles cross country. I'm 82 now and just bought my second pair of cleats after the strap broke on my first pair which lasted 1 year and 8 months. For me and my life style I consider these cleats a life saver.

Everything I wanted to stay safe on ice
We built a house with a wood burning fireplace. I love the fireplace, but I don't necessarily love the gathering wood part. My wood pile is out the back door of the garage, down a little hill that gets very slick very fast.Well, I bought these, then the weather instantly cooperated. On the day of delivery it rained in the morning, and temperatures plummeted late afternoon. By the time I got home from work, everything was a slick sheet of ice. I had two tasks this evening: bring in some firewood, and salt the driveway.Bringing in firewood was a breeze (well, as much as it can be at 12F with a 25 MPH wind). I was able to walk up and down the hill with an armful of wood with ease. No slipping. Wow.Then I salted the driveway. No hill here, but a sheet of flat slippery ice. Again, no slipping at all. I even ran, just for fun, and felt like I could go full speed if I wanted (and if I didn't have a large pail of salt in my hand).I like the strap design. Easy to put on and off. Nice long straps to I can secure this well, not matter which boot I use. I bought the XL size for my size 13 feet, and it fits perfectly. If this ever breaks, I will buy another!
