Petrodex Enzymatic Dog Toothpaste, Poultry Flavor, 6.2oz

Started brushing both of my dogs teeth again after not doing it like I should’ve. I notice my older dogs teeth we’re getting bad & his breath was bad. My females teeth were also bad & she’s only 2! Well, after using this product for about 2 weeks I’ve noticed their teeth are looking & smelling so much better! They love the poultry taste & they look forward to it every night. It’s like a treat to them! This a great product!

I had to write this review. I've had a mini poodle since he was 1.5; he is now 9. They are a notorious breed for bad teeth & breath. I have been told by 4 different veterinarians that you can do everything right and mini poodles will most likely, still end up needing to get teeth pulled. After having 3 teeth pulled at his 1st cleaning, I consistently tended to my dogs teeth for a full year, and he still needed 7 (that's right, 7) more teeth removed at his next cleaning! Ever since then, I've been on a mission to find an enzymatic toothpaste, anything that would work. I've tried greenies, fresh breath, vet's best, water additives (which he refused to drink), vetradent spray (recommended & purchased directly from my vet), arm&hammer, fresh breath, and virbac C.E.T enzymatic. I used the entire tube for each brand. NONE of them work as well as petrodex! I've used this toothpaste religiously, for the past 2 years. The only one close is virbac C.E.T toothpaste, but that's another review. I HAVE to brush his teeth everyday, but I haven't seen plaque return as quickly. He still has severe periodontal disease, but his breath doesn't stink anymore & none of his teeth are loose. This is by no means a cure & I'm sure I'm just staving off the inevitable of more extractions, but in the meantime he's not in pain. I will also say this, I started seeing major results when I combined petrodex with wiping his gums with aloe. There are animal safe aloe gels that you can use. Aloe deals with inflammation, and for whatever reason, when I started dealing with my dogs inflamed gums, the plaque did not come back. I want to be clear, I have always consistently brushed my dog's teeth every day and get a dental cleaning every year. No matter what I did he still would acquire tons of plaque by his 6-month check up after the dentist cleaning. When I started combining petrodex with the aloe vera, there was no plaque at all at his next 6 month checkup!! And there was only a little plaque, a whole year later. I cannot describe to you the triumph. Again, I have a mini poodle, which are notoriously known for terrible teeth. This combination, is truly a miracle worker. The photos with the red background were taken 3 months after his dental cleaning before I started using petrodex. The photo with the white ish background was taken 10 months after his last dental cleaning, since I've been using petrodex and aloe.

I wasn’t sure about Chloe, but I know I wouldn’t like something gritty being rubbed all over my teeth. The texture was great and Chloe liked the flavor. But did the product actually work? Yes! It was amazing. Chloe had noticeable tartar buildup on the bottom of her teeth, and within just a few short days of using this toothpaste from Sentry it was markedly shrinking. I used this dog toothpaste twice a day for the first month that we had Chloe because her teeth were so bad, so the results would probably take longer to notice if you weren’t using it as often. The only thing I will say is that Chloe’s breath still isn’t very good. Honestly, I think the toothpaste helps, but her dental hygiene was so poor when we adopted her that her breath will never be normal. The best thing about enzymatic toothpaste is that it works with the natural power of enzymes. I don’t have to worry about harsh chemicals hurting her teeth, irritating her gums or making her sick when using Sentry Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste for Dogs.

My dogs LOVE this toothpaste. They will even put up with the toothbrushing just to have the toothpaste. I have definitely seen an improvement in my senior dogs gingivitis since I started brushing regularly. Almost all bleeding has stopped.

This was/is one of the best toothpastes that I’ve ever bought for my dad and he didn’t have a big issue with it. He still doesn’t like having his teeth brush, but he doesn’t resist too much with the toothpaste as he does with the ones he had in the past. The flavor of the toothpaste really helped with the teeth brushing.

This dog toothpaste really works. It keeps my furbaby’s teeth clean. It even removed some existing tartar on her teeth she had when I adopted her. She loved the flavor. Every time I say brush your teeth, she comes and waits for me to brush her teeth. Great product.

Not good for old dogs

I was using another brand (arm and hammer) to brush my puppy teeth but that one had beef flavor and baking soda on it it helped to get rid of tartar, but everytime was a struggle my dog hated it, I ordered this one to try something different OMG my life change since de very first use he was so excited to use this like if it was a treat, so yeah makes waaaaay easy the toothbrushing experience that makes it so worth it, we got the poultry flavor, he loves it, also is not sticky so I love the texture, i will have to wait if prevents plaque form but after 2 uses me and my dogs loves it

It has a liver taste and hence your pooch won't hesitate to brush. Plus the properties are quite good for their dental health. I would recommend to give it a try. Brush 3-4 times a week with small quantity on a soft bristle toothbrush. Recommended.

Works well, my dog likes the flavour

Early days but happy so far , Seems to be doing the job . Dogs love it so are happy to have their teeth cleaned so that’s a bonus

Im my opinion this is the best product i use it 3 times a week as part of my grooming routine never need dental work at the vets Im happy
