Your experience may vary, but mine was just as good as the Apple version.
First off: Anyone having a problem with the magnets on this sticking needs to know that the little white grommets over the hinges on the two ends of the main hinge are meant to be removed! Once you slide them off, the cover holds strong and passes the "shake test" (hold by the cover and shake to see if the iPad falls off; With the grommets off, it didn't fall.)Now, as to the 'meat' of this review: This is a clone of the Apple Smart Cover. While I'm sure they come from a variety of sources and each one may vary in quality, I'm happy to say I lucked out and got one that seems indistinguishable from the Apple version. As I said previously, it holds tightly (but is easily removed), lines up perfectly, works to put the iPad to sleep, and has a suitably soft interior that is kind to my iPad mini.My only gripe-- and it's a minor one-- is that the small size of the iPad mini means you don't get quite as sturdy a prop when you fold this cover behind the iPad in the triangle-shape. It works, but it's better when you stand the iPad up than when you lay it down to type on it. I'm not holding this against the company that makes this cover, however, because this is the design Apple came up with and I've heard similar complaints for the official Apple version of the iPad mini Smart Cover. What I truly like about this cover is that it's far less expensive than Apple's overpriced cover. Apple wants forty or fifty bucks for essentially the same thing. I paid under twelve bucks for this one. The difference in quality is minimal, and the function is exactly the same.My cover has held up for many months, too. It's not anywhere near falling apart, as some people have described. Again, your luck may be different than mine, and you may get one from a cheaper clone factory, but the one I got was a worthwhile purchase. It's worth the gamble, if you ask me.

Totally happy
I took a gamble on this ipad mini case. Just to be clear, I purchased the Besdata Ultra Thin Magnetic Smart Cover & Back Case For Apple iPad mini - Black - PT2500.The reviews I read were somewhat mixed. Some said it didn't fit well, other's say the product was cheap and started to separate after some use. I've only had the case for a few days now but I'm totally satisfied with this product. For the price, ~$13 what are you really expecting? My GF purchased a brookstone case for around $30 and you can tell the difference in quality but I'm more satisfied with this case.I don't think the case I purchased will fit the ipad mini with retina display as it was just perfect for the original ipad mini. My understanding is the ipad mini with retina is a hair thicker. In any case, the smart like cover isn't very thick so I can see where people were having issues with wear and tear but for now I'm happy. Product has a matte like feeling and the backside of the case is prone to smudgy finger prints. The one thing I don't understand is that the magnets in the smart cover do allow you to remove the smart cover, however, the back plastic case overlaps the magnetic hinge portion of the smart cover so it doesn't appear that you can remove the smart cover without removing the back plastic casing. This appears to be a flaw in the design but if you don't intend to remove the smart cover than it shouldn't be an issue. I just thought it was kind of pointless to have a removable magnetic smart cover if the case is going to keep it locked in place anyways.Again, for the price around $13. This is a steal!

Great!!!!
Love the deep purple color!!! Case looks good, but doesn't feel like it would protect iPad if dropped, Cover operates like Apple Smart Cover but is slightly thinner. The back part of cover is thin plastic, but is more than what the Apple cover offers to protect that back of iPad from scratches, cut outs for charger, volume, etc, are all good. For less than half of the cost of Apple cover, this cover is great!!! This case rocks out loud--you won't be disappointed if you buy it!!!!

Better than expected
I have an Apple cover and case, but since this is a gift and cases are somewhat personal I did not want to spend too much and get the wrong thing. This was inexpensive, the magnet works to shut off the iPad and the case holds tight. The difference I find with this compared to the apple version is the cover while having the side magnet (can be used alone without the back) the back cover however keeps the side magnet in place to use the cover to prop up the iPad vertically you need to remove the back cover.Got 2 for the mini and 1 for the iPad2 Wife and Kids (23 & 21) like them and there has been no talk of replacing them. These did take a while to get here but did arrive before christmas. The protective screen cover did come off my son's after a short period as the smudges from fingers bothered him. My iPad is 2 years old with no cover and still looks great.. The screen protectors on these are overrated. The salesman in the store showed me his no cover, and the ones they have in the store also have no cover..

Cheap build, but good value
It looked great when I got it. The front cover snaps on and stays in place perfectly. The back case is thin, looks good, and fits well. The screen sticker has a lot of bubbles due to hairs and specks falling on the screen as I tried to install it. That's unavoidable though, in my opinion. The stylus works well (until I lost mine). After three weeks of use, my cover/case is starting to wear out. The edges of the cover are weakening and the glue is coming apart. The silver finish on the side where the magnets hold is giving way to dull gray spots. The back case's thin, rubbery coating is rubbing off at the corners and showing a smooth, slippery plastic. That is all from general usage.I also dropped it from a counter onto linoleum flooring (3.5 feet) and the corner that hit shattered and another corner lost a small piece. However, it did its job. There is no damage to the ipad. The case stays on without any problem due to the magnets, even without that corner. It's just lacking in protection in that corner now. It's cheaply made, but also cheap in price. If you're okay with the case looking a little worn most of the time, it's probably worth buying these and just replacing them when they break over 1 Apple brand case.

Good for the money
Pros : - The cover seems to be decent for the money - The back and front piece fit together perfectly, ensuring the front cover won't come off. - The back cover is a hard plastic material, it will protect the iPad from minor bumps and scratches. - This item is a much better price than Apple's Smart CoversCons : - The front cover doesn't look as nice as the Smart Cover, the quality of the material feels different - I've only owned this item for two days, the durability with use is unknown. - If you're looking for something that is drop-proof, this isn't it - though it does provide a level of protection that should be enough for most people.Overall, I would absolutely recommend this item. For this price, you can't go wrong. I take my iPad mini to work with me, and I expect this cover to get dirty, scratched, etc - no point in using a $50 Apple case.

Case is a great fit, but the plastic is brittle
Fits my iPad Air beautifully, and is thin and light-weight. My problem is that, if dropped, the plastic tends to break at the corners, leaving sharp edges on the case and unprotected corners on the iPad. It is inexpensive, and I simply replaced it when this happened, but it would be much better if made from a slightly sturdier or more-forgiving plastic material. I love that the hinge folds back so flat and that the magnetic cover fits so snugly when closed.

Great inexpensive option....
I just received this cover for my iPad mini within days of ordering it. I originally purchased the $40 Apple version in pink last year. Sadly it didn't wear well, and the front part of the cover was impossible to clean. The price of this product was definitely an enticement, and this time I ordered a darker color. I didn't realize until I received it that this product includes a bottom protector as well (with the Apple cover you can't use a bottom cover because it will interfere with the magnetic attachment). One important note: You have to attach the front cover to the bottom before you put it on your iPad (if you try to put them on separately the front cover won't function correctly). The front cover lays perfectly flat (another reviewer said she was having a problem but mine is fine). And like the Apple version the iPad goes into sleep mode when the front cover is applied. This product also comes with a matching stylus, a screen protector and a very small dust cloth. I'm very happy with this purchase, and I love this price. It's nice to have some alternatives to Apples overpriced products.
