Great knife especially for the price
My mom got me this knife as a birthday present and what can I say its a really hearty and useful knife I carry it almost everywhere. The blade is super thick and u will have no hesitation if you want to use a club on the back to get through timber. The saw edge is kind of pointless if u ask me but only because it isn't long enough. The sheath is pretty good, although I would suggest that u invest in a leg strap if you are going to carry it on your belt so it doesn't bounce around. Also after about a month of use I noticed the grips got a little loose just go ahead and remove the handles and put a little Loctite on the screw threads and this will eliminate that issue. Keep in mind before u buy this knife it is a big heavy knife my girl friend refers to it as a big mans knife but hey im a big man and it suits my hands perfectly. Hope this helps your decision.

Beautiful sturdy knife. Not so good scabbard.
The knife is strong, sturdy, powerful. Very pleased with the knife. The scabbard, unfortunately, is a bit shoddy. Difficult to withdraw knife and replace it. I will likely buy a different scabbard, but no complaints about the knife, which is worth the price. Expect to carry it on forest and mountain adventures for a long time, and it does give one a sense of security and looks cool.

Just received it and WOW
This knife just arrived today. Wow it is a big honking knife. Heavy weight feels really solid. I own a S&W "dive knife" and it's a good knife with a scabbard that is a piece of junk, it sits in my toolbox now and rarely gets used. This knife is going into my bug out bag. Scabbard is nice nylon but with a liner so you don't cut it drawing the knife. The scabbard also has a pouch for a sharpening stone that comes with it. It's an all around solid knife.Update: Okay so had this knife for a while now. I have had the chance to compare it with a few other knives and have to say while comparing it to a Ka Bar would be tough, given Ka Bar's years of service, it holds its own. Lot cheaper than say the SOG SEAL knife at more than $90. I love the fact it is one piece of steel with the handles bolted on. If the handles ever crack or break, no big deal a little paracord wrapped around it will make a nice hand grip. This knife is serrated on BOTH sides, not just one like knives are. Could live without the big S&W logo on the blade but that is so minor an issue. What can I say I am a fan of this knife.

Heavy field knife is great!
Another great knife from S&W. This knife is a lot heavier than you would expect but that is why I enjoy it as a bush crafting knife. Thick, durable, sharp out of the box.

Great quality knife for the price.
Been using this knife for 3 months now, around the house and work, and I love the heavy duty feel. The 3 stars are due to the 2nd rate scabbard it brings, it is extremely difficult to sheathe and unsheathe this blade, and the only thing anchoring the plastic sheath from the fabric portion is a simple button that comes undone very easily. Other than that, the blade itself will not disappoint.

Zombie Knife
I had no idea this knife would be so heavy... the blade is almost a quarter inch thick! It could easily penetrate a steel car body panel or heavy bone without sustaining any damage.... This is a BIG MAN'S knife.

Great value. Sharp from the box
Great value. Sharp from the box. 1/4" full tang. Prefer serrations on top of any of my knives. Have owned this before and gave it to a gentleman in camp that admired it a lot. Nice--- functional sheath. Cannot go wrong with this purchase. Better than many costing much more. Highly recommend.

WOW
I've bought a lot of knives from many manufacturers. This is my first Smith and Wesson, and let me tell you, this knife is impressive. You hold this knife in your hands and you know you have a serious blade. For the price, this is one of my favorites, beats my BK 7 for sure.My only complaint is the sheath is very tight for the knife. This knife convinced me to buy more S&W knives for sure.Buy one, you won't regret it.

Great knife! I give it a 4 because of the sheath that is a little poorly made... Yet the blade is impressive.

Great For a handy man
I got this for my dad years ago as a replacement for an multipurpose knife he owned previously and this thing is great. He's used it on countless projects for years and it's held up great.
