Normally when I get things with an odor they sit on the back porch for as a long as it takes. Can the odor be gotten rid of?

I had to leave mine outside and all pieces open and not touching each other for two weeks before I could stand to bring it back inside. Still has a slight odor

Smaller wedge has not expanded fully after 72 hours. Any tips or should I return it?

If it is mostly expanded, just use it and it will finish fluffing out. I ordered 2 of these, 1 of the small wedges wouldn't fluff at all. I used a hairdryer on low heat and warmed up the pillow and gently fluffed it out with my hands. I couldn't do the dryer with tennis balls trick because my dryer is super small.

Do the wedges completely separate?

As far as I can see, there is no way to completely separate the two pieces but have not had a need to do so. For me, it has been a great product. The pictures in the information show all the different ways that it can be used.
