Ecvcerllent stand and some improvement in quality control although further improvement needed
This was purchased as a replacement for a stand acquired some 10 years ago which speaks to the quality of the product used by our flighted birds daily. As one can see from previously posted reviews, This group of perches has suffered from quality control. I shuddered when I realized this was the same item we had struggled with some years ago because of parts not fitting and needing additional drilling . I am pleased to say all pieces went together appropriately on the current product although it did take some pounding of ladder sides to get screws to line up appropriately. There were still some deficiencies however. There were no instructions for assembly and no inventory of parts. The former may not bee needed from the pictures, but there are different sized screws included which I did not realize until after I had used a smaller screw in place of a larger one. Further the package arrived with a duplicate of one part but missing another (wrong ladder) an error I did not pick up until the unit was essentially assembled.I am pleased to say that I received an appropriate replacement part 2 days after speaking the the distributor. It is clear from my experience and the fact that rating are often from repeat purchasers like myself who, despite previous quality control problems, were willing to try again I presume because of a positive experience with the end product. The stand, once together is excellent, my birds love it, and it was as indestructible as any unit used by birds could be. I would purchase again but hope that quality control improves further

We keep some Zupreem Smart Select (not seeds) in the two dishes to encourage ...
After a long search after our 30yo Blue-front passed, we adopted Rio, a Tobago Orange-winged. She was only 3 1/2 months old when we brought her home this summer, and this play stand was one of our first purchases (although not from Amazon). She was a bit scared of it when we first showed it to her, but that lasted only a day or two, and now 7 weeks later we can hardly keep her off of it. When we open her cage door and get her out, she flies right to it every time. So, don't give up if your bird is not enthusiastic at first. We keep some Zupreem Smart Select (not seeds) in the two dishes to encourage her, along with some small toys that we hang from the plastic chain, and now she alternates snacking and playing with the toys. Until the last few days, she always stayed at the top (instinct is to go to highest place for safety), but now her confidence is growing and she is climbing up and down the ladders to get to the toys. The play stand was easy to assemble, but I did have to drill two holes to make one ladder line up where it was supposed to go. Also, it was the mirror image of the one shown in the picture (I followed the directions carefully). No matter, it seems to be her favorite place to play and she can spend an hour at a time on it. We bought the 20" play stand and placed it on a table top. It seems to be a good size for her, at least for now. My only negative is that it is difficult to put toys at the top where she prefers to perch, so we use the yellow chain to drape them over the top and place them in her reach. I suppose I could attach something to hang the toys, but since she is climbing down to get them now, that is not so important.

A nice gym for birds, but difficult to put together due to sloppy hole drilling
Once it is put together, this is a nice gym for moderate sized birds. However, some of the pre-drilled holed were drilled in the wrong place, so it was very difficult to put together! I had to file the corner off of one piece of wood and use significant force to assemble it. In addition, it came with the holes drilled to be the mirror image of what is shown in the advertised picture and on the box. While not terrible, birds are creatures of habit and anything new disturbs them. I had an old Acrobird which served us well for many years, but as of the second day of use our bird is still not comfortable with the new one. I am sure that he will get over it, but the problem would have been solved by the proper drilling of just two holes.

This play set might be too big for Cockatiels
Seems like this play set is for a bigger bird than the listed Cockatiel. The bars of the ladders are at least 1/2" diameter. I can tell by watching my two Cockatiels that they feel uncomfortable moving around on the play set and they are not trying to climb the bars as yet.I'm going to wait until they get use to it and see if that changes before I try to modify anything

Difficult assembly, but nice unit.
This is actually quite nice looking and sturdy once it is assembled, and is a good size for an amazon. The cleanable tray is nice. Assembly is no fun, but eventually worked out ok. The worst part is that the 3 small ladders do not come assembled, and they are VERY difficult to put together---almost gave up. No mention of this in the instructions. It would be much better to ship with all ladders pre assembled.

Had to create some replacement pieces
Good design. Reasonable price. Some of the pieces did not fit correctly, but I am handy enough to have been able to cut some replacement pieces so it came out OK (not everyone can do that, and no one should have to do that, though). Still better than building it all from scratch. Got this as a gift for a friend and she likes it well enough.

Really poorly drilled
I have put together 3 or 4 of these over the past 20 years, they eventually need to be replaced from use. It has always been tricky but I could do it. This one is totally messed up. The vertical ladder is more than an inch off, the ladder cannot attach to the top walk. Now I have to cart it off to return it, which is an issue for me due to the weight of it. Caitec should be ashamed putting customers through this inconvenience.Iโll give it another go with a replacement, but I hope this doesnโt happen again.

Shameful quality control!
Where is the quality control? You cannot assemble this per the instructions without making many modifications and drilling quite a few holes. I finally got it assembled sort of backwards and only had to drill two new holes, but they were in the floor. If my labor was worth anything, this would be one expensive playland. This is my second playland and the first one (a cheapie) also required home engineering to get assembled.
