Bark Collar great, but too expensive to use!
This bark collar works well and effectively. However, the batteries only last like three days. It takes the cr2025 battery that is very expensive to replace so often. My dog only barks once when it is on and then, he is quiet the rest of the time the collar is on. He has a sharp learning curve. So, the dog barking while wearing the collar to wear out the batteries is not an issue. Contacted the company to inquire about repairing or replacing the unit. They will do it for a service charge of $40.00! Please note that the item does not cost that much. I would recommend another brand. Stay away from Guardian brand products. Have the remote training collar with the same problem.

calm
I can now put my dog out stress free and not worry about her popping off for an hour of off the wall barking and having to worry about my neighbor who likes to animal control.p.s. the batteries can be purchased at walmart 2/5.88 in the watch dept.

Petsafe bark collars all cheap junk
Absolute junk only works for a few days once you start replacing the batteries eventually the collar does not work. I have 5 of these collars due to the price and each one of them quite working. I have tried other petsafe products and they are crap as well wasted my money. They are cheap for a reason. Don't be fooled just because they work for a couple days eventually they wont work the dog will figure out they dont work and the barking will get worse.

I feel empathy for him... but Teddy clearly remembers the meaning of BEEEEEP
This thing gets mixed reviews at other sites so do some reading. But I figured I would offer my experience, breif as it is. Our Cairn Terrier barks at noises and people he does not know. He is particularly vicious with the mail man even recognizing the truck when we are driving around town together and he goes nuts for it. We have been taking time to introduce him to people as much as possible and he is calming down, but it is slow going. My wife thinks he is a stupid dog. Although this is possible, I am more inclined to believe that there are more stupid owners than there are stupid dogs.My daughter made a surprise visit home for mother's day and she brought her poodle with her. This dog does not bark at all and she had the bark collar with her. Apparently she and my wife put the anti-bark collar on our dog. He barked... the collar beeped, then he barked some more... and then he yelped... then silence. Not hearing more barking I looked up to see what was going on and that is when I learned what they had done. Our dog was distressed. He was confused and even afraid. He was shaking his head and not sure where to go to be safe. At first I felt great empathy for him and after one minute of watching his behavior I took the collar off him even though it only shocked him the one time.Later on, he started barking a little, then more. I asked my daughter why the device did not go off and she explained that it used vibration more than bark to know when to activate. She said watch, and scraped the device's nodes across an old wooden bench and it beeped. I said oh, let me see. "Teddy... come here buddy". When Teddy showed up I did as she had done... it beeped, and Teddy took off running. There is no denying it. Even four hours later he knew exactly what the beep meant and wanted no part of it.I have not since put the device back on him because I want to try some other methods first, but I have not doubt that if I wanted to use this anti-bark collar to control his barking it would work. From other reviews I gather it works with more or less success depending upon the dog. Maybe it is better for smaller dogs than larger ones.Hail Flavius!Update, it has been several weeks now and Teddy still knows what the beep means. We need only make the device beep and Teddy will stop whatever he is doing and hide. This is clearly an effective device for smaller dogs. Again I have not put the collar back on Teddy because I feel guilty about the idea of using it but I must repeat my earlier statement that I have no doubt that this anti-bark collar has left a long term impression on Teddy and that it would work to curtail his barking if I wanted to use it.Hail Flavius!

Successful product!
My 7 pound Yorkie, a stray, barked at everyone and everything, even my roommate. He's had the collar on for less than 24 hours, and it seems he's cured! When he barks once, it beeps, he yelps once and stops barking. He's pretty much already stopped even trying to bark in the first place! The yelp seems more like surprise and fear than pain. He climbs into my lap and is quickly OK.I don't know about the other reviewer's complaint that the batteries wear out quick. We'll have to see. But it works! I suspect it probably works best on small dogs, for whom the vibration is more strongly felt. Also, please note that I had to put the collar as small as it would go to make it fit my dog. If you're dog is smaller than 7 pounds, you'll have to do some serious modifying!
