great way to file cds
I have used the brennan for its main purpose ripping and filing a cd collection and now 499CDs some 6500 tracks are saved on the ssd drive . By connecting via an ethernet connection and a CD link i was really pleased when the yamaha music cast streamer in the study could find and play the files on the brennan which is not the core of a system in the kitchen . My only advive to buyers is think about what you are doing . A flac file of a cd is abig file expecting this to play seaml;essly acrosss wi fi is asking a huge amount as any dedicated gamer would tell you . Connected up as i have it seems to work fine and i aqm hugely pleased with both the purchase and the support from brennan its a great bit of kit

Great piece of kit
This is a great piece of kit - when it works!! The software and disk loaded most of my CD's however I am on a third version as the CD reader failed on both versions one and two. Very good customer service from Brennan who replaced each faulty item with no quibble (even upgrading the third one to a Brennan 480G). The wireless signal is a bit flaky and I've bought a higher grade aerial. The web UI and App work well but take a little time to sync up after changes. All in all worth the money. I haven't yet used the bluetooth dongle to link to spotify and am waiting for things to stabilise before investing in some Sonos speakers.

Wifi connection poor
I love my Brennan JB7 but thought I would upgrade to the B2. The new machine is very good but is difficult go connevt to my wifi. I have lookef on the forum and others seem to have the same problem. This is disappointing as this was one of the big atttactions for me. This would have allowed me go control my machine via the app but I can still not get connected to my wifi and don't really know how to get tound this.

Brennan B2, wanted one for years, everything I expected and more
Excellent bit of kit. Great loading up CDs Iβd forgotten I had and listening to them again. Been downloading mp3 stuff from an old external hard drive. Easy to access now. Donβt use the remote much, control it from my iPad, much better. The Brennan is connected to my powered Bose speakers giving a deep, room filling sound. The Bluetooth connection enables me to play Spotify playlists with good sound reproduction too. Overall very happy with the purchase.

For the price - brillient
Brilliant, superb sound, from both ripping and CD player etc. Lots and lots of settings and options. When I purchased mine the sound channels were opposite way round - left was right and right for left. I E-mailed Brennan and they replied following day, told me switching channels were in the 'maintenance' option. It worked - no problem. Don't like the (mini) remote, fiddly and confusing to me. Don't like the main knob for most of the operations and the 'floating display'. However, given that it appears to me to be a 'lifestyle' mini unit - it's brilliant. Got a high quality toslink lead and replaced the standard WI-fi dongle supplied with a antenna one, much improved WI-fi strength ( internet radio averaging 98% now), lovely sound. No fast forward/back with hard drive content and CD player ( I think) ,only major bind for me) Lots more to discover at the moment. For the price I gave it five stars ( mainly for the sound quality). Only problem now is that it was a 'stop gap' for my cd storage until I get my dream mega-bucks unit, but if the Brennan sounds this good, whats that going to sound like.Philbean

Something so good is so bad
Firstly let me just say the machine itself is a sturdy bit of kit and relatively easy to set up , took about 10-15 minutes as instructions were quite wrong but gave you a clue as to what should be happening . That said that is as good as it gets , the Brennan software is absolutely woeful .Once you figure out how to get it up on a laptop that's about as good as it gets . So far ( at time of writing this) out of the 26 CDs I've tried it's only recognized 7 making the whole process pretty useless . It arranges and names things how it wants to and renaming won't help because as soon as you think you've cracked it the name changes again. So with something so "hard" to get right you'd think the support would be there to get you on the right track , think again !! If for no other reason than to have a history lesson go on Brennan's site , it's like some 90's retro affair with awful presentation and little to no help. The only bit of advice we've gleaned from it was to try downloading a new database of CDs to see if it recognises more ( you'd sort of hope they'd put an up to date one on but no that'd be too much trouble) . As it stands we'll be trying that tomorrow and if as expected it fails this will be sent back for refund as it's as much use as a chocolate fireguard as it comes.

Great sound once everything thing loaded
I bought the brennan b2 after mixed reviews. IRipped about 325 cds and various downloads. The app for the phone was a bit buggy but it was much easier with the web ui on the PC it took some time but im not the best when it comes to software. However now all loaded I have to say the sound is excellent. I mainly play this through sony wireless headphones or my Denon amp and I am well pleased. I now have all my music in one place and I'm listening to tracks I havent heard for years. Im well pleased and to me well worth the money

Brennan B2, The Way To Go
Fast, prompt delivery, ordered the Brennan Speakers too.Had it set up and running in 30mins. Ripped first Cd straight away, probably took five minutes, with no problems. Remote, although small, is easy to use but will have to read up a little on what all the buttons do. The main unit is small and compact and again is easy to use. I'll again have to read up more on how to fully use all its features.Downloaded the Android App, again no problems, and you can see the full catalogue of Cd's you have stored onto the unit.So far really happy with my purchase.Would I recommend? Definitely yes.
